If you could find a cable to connect the Navman unit to a serial cable then there would be no reason why it wouldn't work with ECU talk. Datascan does not work on any pocket PC device (unless you have a RAON).

So, in theory, if I got almost any PDA GPS with a USB port it should be fine for ECUtalk?
Just found out that Navman don't rpoduce this unit anymore even though it's still listed as a product. Have found a few Gamin (or is it Garmin? Spelling?) units but they are pretty pricy and a few HP ones at the Good Guys i'm yet to check out.

    My advice

Buy an Ipaq (HP) with both CF (compactflash) and SD card slots. buy an SD card to hold maps (say 512mb), buy a compact flash GPS (<$100).

Buy a serial blazt cable, an ipaq serial sync cable and a null modem cable

install Tom Tom Navigator with australian maps, install Ecu talk

Mount in car as per Col's example. :)

what he said. also check out blazt forums, there is a post about possible blazt ipaq serial/charge cable which will handle serial cable, null modem, and charger, and directly connect between ipaq and serial interface (rather than having to either run on batteries, or get a serial cable with charging ability and take up the cig lighter socket permanently), and uses power from consult port to charge
