Thanks for the mention Simmo Mine is driving me nuts at the moment still waiting to get the ecu rechipped and tuned Been talking to Ken at H/drive he is getting a guy called DR Drift who does 300s will be coming over, Ken has about 8cars waiting to get done so hopefully won't be to long
You might like to look up on the history of "Dr Drift" before you authorise him to tune your car. There is information available using search.
its interesting reading through the thread as it is a very mixed group on what people would like to see in autosalon. to me a lot of it comes down to presentation. in last year's autosalon, 4 of the cars there were at the workshop where i got the bodywork done on my zed. its interesting to see what a difference detailing can make. these cars only weeks before had been covered in fibreglass dust from sitting in the guys workshop for months on end. at the show they looked amazing, so for me, don't be fooled! i think there are some fantastic zeds driving around in perth who could be in autosalon. as for mods, i think it would be good to show a variety. a couple with engine mods, which will prove to others that the zed is definitely a worthy opponent, and then a few showy sorta cars. as brad said, you look at some of the other clubs and the cars they are showing. also look at (can't remember their name) but they all had bmw's etc. No offence, they are nice looking cars, but these ones had factory bodykits and shiny rims. that was literally it. after being to millions of car shows with my dad over the years, i find the scene has changed in a big way. in years gone by there was the appreciation of just seeing the cars etc. as they were, now the car HAS to have rims, HAS to have a bodykit, HAS to have engine mods. will stop now before this gets any longer.
i really doubt my car would be ready.. paitning around may.. engine parts on order now i wouldnt say yes because im just not sure and wouldnt wanna screw youu guys over by not making the day any chance of late entries?? lol..
On a side note We should really meet up in the very near future to discuss this, the earlier we sort this out the better, the quicker we can choose a spot at the convention centre, the quicker we can tell them the numbers, etc etc...
i remember a few years back one of the Silviawa boys got his car towed to autosalon and back coz the thing didnt go - looked pretty tho when promoting a car club if you show off all your best cars, then people actually get turned away due to thinking they arent good enough to join coz there car isnt modified enough. maybe have at least one stock looking z with maybe a few engine mods or something, and basics like rims, susp & tint etc so it 'keeps it real'. and im sure this has been posted before but everytime someone mentions autosalon i just cant get it out of my head http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhjQP0CENH0
