you've undone the 3 nuts that's holding the rear solenoid on so you should just be able to yank it off now simmo....

Dont you need a HICAS lock kit? Cos if you just go yanking it out you lose your power steering :(

    BLEEDING

Jack the front end of the car up in the air, put it on stands.

Turn it on, go between full lock Left and Right, a number of times.

Check fluid . add if nessary. and yeah.. :) just keep working it untill you feel its right.

Yes. If the HICAS detects an error it goes into a safe mode where the steering is heavy at all speeds.

you didn't de-vane your pump. the thing you removed is some type of valve. the vanes are small rectangular bits of metal that are located around the impeller. either way im not sure that this is whats causing your heavy steering

I have suffered no ill affects since removing the hicas. I didn't de-vane the pump,
simply plugged the redundant outlet at the pump. My steering feels the same as it did before the
removal, definately not to heavy. Perhaps your pump is not building enough pressure?
It may have a damaged vane and is allowing some internal bleeding?

Can you re-assemble your pump, before the removal of valve (wokburners tech) to it's original state?
If so, do this and test to see if the steering returns to normal operation. I used the
banjo bolt with a tubular sleeve to cover the exposed outlet in the bolt, fitted copper washers
to both ends of the sleeve and bolted it to the hicas-out on the pump to seal it up.
