I want to neaten my engine bay up a bit by painting a few bits and pieces.. My thoughts are to get a polished plenum, spray the balance pipe blue to match blue vacuum hoses, spray the cam covers silver and spray the throttle cover blue.. What do people think?
me too how thick are genuine just out of curiosity? The ones i put on were just as thick if not a little thicker than the stock ones i took off..
i had this bookmarked in my ebay account too. i was looking at these too, but also thinking... polished stainless... but hte prob with that is the cost....atm i cant justify $300 plus for some intake hoses
THe day after i bought these a set of polished ones came up with a buy it now price of $190! I just had a look again but they have gone.. I was shattered when i saw them coz thats what i wanted but like you didnt want to spend $300+ Keep your eye out you mite find a cheap set come up every once in a while
Strom, found the polished ones! Check them out: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Turbo-interc...0QQihZ008QQcategoryZ43808QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Stu
hmm maybe next year after i spend six months polishing the plenum.. Dont suppose you have a spare one floating around
A great start, but beware, if the bling bug bites it can be very expensive and a lot of hard work Go for it Here's a base line to shoot for Silver Zeds rule
cheers stu, thats what i was looking for, but i would have prefered stainless steel.... but i havent seen many of those sets around. now i just have to think... do i want them... LOL
If your doing a polished plenum, why not buy a ported one from ttz? http://www.ttzed.com/products/produ...D=346&page=1&title=Engine - Porting&do=detail I think they offer a polished outside with a smoother inside aswell so you get more air flow. So its bling and performance.:zlove:
Barons Engine Bling! Maaaate, Every time I see that engine bay, I am sooo jealous! cheers mate - great job. Kaz.
Yeah, thats all part of the job, not difficult to do just time consuming. Heres a pic of my plenum half done to show the difference with match porting And it's a job you can to to everything. Lower plenum to heads, heads to exhaust manifolds, turbo's to dumps, and you can clean out and hone the dumps, they have a casting "dag" at the outlet that reduces the diameter by about 6mm. All DIY, not much money, about 20 Litres of "elbow grease"
