Yeah Id always run a proper TT on 98 but with N/A pistons wouldnt I be more likely to blow it running 98? The extra compression would make ignition alot easier/stronger eliminating the need for higher octane fuel? Correct me if I'm wrong bro, I do agree though 91 is a bit far lol suppose I'll stick to 95 for now, it works so I can't complain
Sorry for the double post, ignore my last comment you're 100% right. I was under the impression the higher the octane the faster the fuel burns but it's the other way round. I'll be sticking to 98 from now on, thanks for the help man
Honestly I don't think they done anything ecu wise, they claimed to have changed the timing/fuel maps but they only had it plugged in 5minutes if that. They also got out the timing light and adjusted the crank angle sensor which was slightly off. As I said before this place wasnt very flash I'll definately be ordering an aftermarket ECU and heading to the city for a proper tune when I can, she runs well but til then I wouldn't trust her in high RPM
Its not high rpm you need to worry about, its around 4000-5000 where peak torque is made on stock turbos that will cause failure. High compression, boost, 95 octane and a 5 minute tune are a recipe for disaster.
This. Anywhere you have high load with the pedal down. If the tune is out you risk piston melting detonation.
