Hi, Can anybody identify where the white connector plugs into? It is on both sides of the car. There is a black one alongside it that connects to the interior light switch operated when the door is opened or closed. I cannot seem to find where the white connector plugs into, Can anyone assist me to know what it is for?
Is that a picture of the lower B pillar area from inside the car? If so, the wires are there to connect the illuminated 300ZX door sill scuff plates. There should be a connector in the same position on the opposite side of the vehicle. An option on Z32's was replacing the standard black plastic scuff plates with Altia aluminium scuff plates. These also featured an illuminated 300ZX in the centre in a bright blue/greenish colour, that activated when the door was opened. There was also an option available for the centre panel between the tail lights. The 300ZX on this panel would illuminate in a similar colour when the tail lights were turned on.
Thanks for the responses, East Coast Z, yes that is where they are located & yes there are one of these on both sides of the car. I am so happy to have you confirm this as it is holding us up from installing the interior panels.. Thanks for your time . We just may have our car up & running by the end of the year after a 14 year rebuild haha.
Could also be related to seatbelts. I know at least one of my old zeds had wires going to the seat belt retractors, but that was the early door mount versions rather than the b-pillar.
