While driving down the road and sitting on 60kph or 80kph my car will change down a gear & slip into higher revs When I touch the pedal it goes up a gear and calms down’ Now this isn’t all the time just now n then. Also if I put the power on hard to overtake a slower vehicle and speed up quickly it kicks back and goes well However once I back off, the engine cuts out and red lights on dash come on. I then have to pull over and restart the Farkin thing. People are saying that it is a sensor thing and should get the computer read to analyse what is happening? So does anyone have any idea what is happening? Does anyone have or know anyone in WA, who could read my car computer to determine what the fark is going on? I drove to Albany and back (800kiloms) sitting on 120kph with no problems. So it is only sporadic. But farkin annoying. cheers for any info Bobby
I'd start with checking your TPS setting. Should be 0.45V when the throttle is shut and give a smooth increase to ~5V at full open. It does influence what your auto does.
Hi, With what you are describing, i had happen to a zed many years ago, (the problem was the iacv, this may not be your issue but check it anyway) you need to check the IACV, and make sure to set the base idle correctly. to check, disconnect the 2 pin connector (check the base idle is at 700 +/- 50rpm), turn adjustment screw until this is set. also as mentioned above check the TPS sensor is at 0.45v
Thank you very much for your input I have relayed your message to my mechanic... definitely open to all options and possibilities
