G'day guys So I've been doing my usual looking through at different 300s despite not having any money to spend on another one and something came to my mind. Did the 2+0 come with 4 seats or was it only the 2+2s because when I bought my car it was advertised as a 2+0 with four seats but now that I've been looking I can't seem to find another one like it. I'm new to the world of 300s so this may be a stupid question but I thought I might as well ask and see if I could find out. Cheers in advance.
Lol, 2+0 and 2+2(=4, they say 'plus' because the rear seats don't really hold a full sized person) refers explicitly to the number of seats. Body length etc. is a side effect of making space for the seats.
best way to tell other than by looking at the number of seats inside is the fuel cap location. if the fuel cap is in front of the rear wheel arch, then you have a 2+0 or "short wheel base" if its behind the rear wheel arch then you have 2+2 or "long wheel base" you will find the occasional 2+2 with the rear setas removed for a sub box or similar, but there is no way to add seats to a 2 seater there is no space there.
:zlove::rofl: Most people can't see the difference, I had my rear seat folded down for a year because it gave more room for the targa tops to be laid down without being on top of each other. Everyone at work assumed it was a 2 seater and I was never asked to be the designated driver. On my last day as a couple were helping carry boxes out, I put the rear seat up to use them and they commented "WTF you have been scamming us all this time...." Well I didn't know they didn't know I had 4 seats (I even have an extra seat belt on the middle hump) I just assumed they were all really nice to always drive me to the pub and back .:rolleyes2:
ha ha ha I used to think that way but the 2+2 is growing on me, (I do own one after all) - There is one other possibility, mine is a 2+2 no questions asked however the compliance plate which has my chassis number specifically states 2 seater, I am left wondering how this will play out when go over the pits to get it re registered.
