Hey guys I wanna hear from people that have done there own na-t what they thought about the finished product. I'm in the process atm I had a tt engine went kaput. So for something a little different and against the main streem. I'm running a 96vg30de with every thing from my other engine bolted up in addition I'm running 555cc injectors nistune tuned by me mate. He owns his own shop In Melbourne I'm in Tweed Heads so I told him good excuse for a holiday lol. His estimating around 400whp with the timing wound back
I did it with an 89 engine, got 230kw with mods but headgasket went right around 5000km. More info here http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329854 I'll post an update to the thread.
Boosted N/A Eric (A2Zed) boosted an N/A for his missus years ago , stock boost levels only, he said it was lag less . I'm not sure if you will find anything about it if you search though ?
There is a facebook group dedicated to the swap. plenty of experience in that group. With a nistune you will have a good time the timing needs to come out to prevent detonation. In my experience with NA+t RB's - dont expect to run too much boost - water or water+meth injection into the intake lets you run more boost - just dont run dry
Me mate who's tuning has a lot of experience with Na forced induction. Does a lot of ls n RB, 2j. This will be his first vg lol
Eric's car was originally N/A. only boosted his to 7psi so intercooling was not required, hence less lag.
High comp.. high boost .. espcially with small cams = very high cylinder pressures Extra clamping force and a good gasket is a good upgrade if your engine is apart .. or when it is pulled apart due to blown headgasket due to the setup
LOL Thats is such bollocks man!!!! Its myths perpetrated by armchair "experts" designed to confuse the masses!!!!!! The cylinder pressures during combustion will be exactly the same as anything else 3.0l V6 that produces, let just say 250Kw of powah, by atmo, turbo or supercharging!!! If its to keep a head gasket in place to handle detonation, nothing short of no gasket at all will handle that!!!! LOL E
So I have a interesting theory regarding l19 studs which I'm looking into and may keep me with ARP2000
well that's rubbish build another motor identical specs to mine without the supporting breathing mods and you have same cylinder pressure at same boost and less power made .
share I know for a fact the girdle struggles to stay in place with very high boost (more cylinder pressure ) showing chatter marks so extra clamping force will definitely help with that .
I'd go 1000cc mate. My car on stock turbos and e85 hits 76% injector duty cycle on just 18psi of boost. 750s would be over 100% trying to keep up.
Baaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahh!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever dude! PMSL! Think "Volumetric efficiency" man! And get back to us! E
You seem to always take things else where . My point is simply 8.5 stock cams at 18psi will give you a certain cylinder pressure Bump it to 10.5 comp and you will increase cylinder pressure a fair bit ..irrellevant of your hp figures . Start pushing 30psi on 8.5 vs 10 .5 and its a significant increase in pressure irrellavant of hp figure Do you need more clamping force ? Debate but have many friends running over 30psi that have gone to stronger studs due to head lift. I run 9.5 to 1 with a constant 28psi with 264 cams My girdle has signs of chatter so Im going L19s .will it fix it ? Let you know . Funny enough my headgasket and cylinder head are perfect
