To all those parents with 2+2's.

I still dream of the day I get another Zed. I was thinking the other day I might be able to fast track this if I can get a 2+2 and get kiddies seats in. (when number two is big enough for the seat to be front facing).

I need to fit two kids seats in.

So what are peoples experience with kids seats in a zed?

Do you need custom anchor points. Is is a PITA to get kids in and out etc.

Just stick them in the boot and throw a blanket over them so the cops can't see.

I have 2 baby seats in the Zed. Both are forward facing. If you have only one baby, you can do rear facing, but the passenger seat needs to be all the way forward. So I hope you don't have a tall wife. If you want pics or more info, PM me.

    Forward facing

Forward facing is fine - rear facing just doesn't really fit..... When the car was complied it should have had child seat anchors fitted so should be just a matter of strapping them in. I found that packing the seat with a towel or two under it helped the car seats sit in there a bit better, and protects the foam from being too crushed by the seats....

yeah I had wondered about that because I remember the rear seats having a very deep base. Not flat like the baby seats are generally made to sit on.

years ago I had a Mazda that had quite deep rear seats (and it was a 4 door) I ended up shaping a Polystyrene block to sit under the baby seats so they would sit correctly

Have you considered removing the bum foam piece and just putting the kids seats directly on the metal?

Without the foam your kids seats might fit into the dished metal a bit better? (or not?)

Maybe fit a flat piece of upholstered MDF and sit those kid seats on that.

Got two forward facing kids seats in mine. Have towels under the seat also to pack it up higher & not destroy the seats. Girls are six now and heads still just fit in (Note: Buying a twin turbo when your wife finds out you are having twins does not keep you out of the dog house ... seemed logical to me though)
