As far as Im concern 100k and 200k service kits are the same its just a few extra parts you can throw in while your at it. None of those kits include spark plugs or timing belt cover washers, coolant bypass tubes, its kinda optional what you add to the kit you buy. I spent nearly $1500 on my 200k service it because I added things like new timing belt covers, k&n oil filter, Stillen pod filter, and spark plugs etc etc. I still think the CZP kit is the best out on the web to date but that's my opinion and if you are on a budget then you need to look at all of the kits available and look at what offers the best valve for money not just the cheapest kit out there.
I feel this thread is a good place to suggest something....especially for WA Zedders. I had a great mechanic for a time who would SHOW ME my old parts when he'd replace them with new ones, so I could see what and why. Top bloke. What I'm saying is.....IF you're paying a "Mechanic" to do a service on your Zed as important as the 100/200K service, and they're charging you for the "kit"/"parts", I'd ensure the following happens: 1) Full invoice that INCLUDES a complete list of parts changed. If their "system is down", ask polity for a hand written/typed invoice with a company stamp and signature on it. 2) Ask to have your old parts back. (not to just "see" them as anyone can pull out an idler from the bin and say "this was your one mate"). Just a thought. I've heard rumor of some people getting stung on big services. Let them know UP FRONT of course that you'll want all the old parts. This way both you AND your mechanic have a "check list", and something to fall back on if EITHER....EITHER side claims foul play. Let's face it. We're all human. A mechanic can forget to do something. A customer and forget he asked the mechanic to keep costs down. Without stuff in black and white, AND physical items in your hand, who knows?
