Hey. Want to get te37 wheels for my 1996 TT. I know wider than 10.5 are a pain to mount. I just want to know what is the offset I should go with 11j rear wheels and 9j front. I will widen the fenders if just rolling and pulling doesn't help. I just want to be sure with the offset so that it doesn't touch the inner side. Any knowledgeable advise would be highly appreciated
18s or 19s? When going inwards on a TT, the first suspension arm you'll hit is the HICAS ball joint. 18s will hit it and 19s will clear it. This of course effects what offset you can run.
This is what I mean. I snapped this pic underneath an R32 GTR a few years ago. It had 18s. If you can clear the HICAS ball joint, a further 20mm you hit the lower control arm and spring at about the same time. This thread has all the info and numbers you need: http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=214381
hmm is this for looks, performance, fitment, to destroy car ?? offset on an 11 is gonna be tricky regardless especially if you concider lowering it at all. ask yourself why you want the 9-11 inch front rear set up and if you actually need it, otherwise choose what you need for the intended purpose
Thanks for the replies! The purpose of this is: a) We have crappy pavement here in Georgia... b) The car is mostly used on highway for pulls from 60km/h to 300+ and for drag racing 3 times a year. c) I made 531whp @ 1.3 bar. Now I'm going 1.8, changed exhaust to 3", added Water/Methanol system and installed intake and exhaust adjustable pulleys. Lookng at 700whp so need more grip. d) Finally I like the looks of a wide rear tire And if I ever want to track the car I have the 8/9.5 set of wheels that I run now So the wheels have to be 18s. And considering HICAS what offset can be had? And does deleting hicas (it's not funcional right now anyways) solve that problem? Thanks!
Better off running a 10 or 10.5 with +40ish offset and 305 rubber. Or if you are only going in a straight line, move down to a 16 or 17in wheel and a drag radial. something 275or similar.
can we run 18" x 10.5" +40 offset with 265 rubber on rear with 1" lowered TT with super HICAS? I need to get new set of rims... I am getting trouble in offset. and can we use 18" x 9.5" rims at the front? ( Im using 225/40/18 at front ) what offset should I use as well? Thanks
My current wheels are 10.5 +42 with 265/35r18 my new wheels are 11+35 with 295/35r18 The 10.5's fit perfectly. The 11's poke slightly.
I'm running 10.5 +38 295/30zr18 semi slicks. No rubbing. No poke with 1.5 deg neg camber Rolled guards
Thanks mate...I'm all right. Passed a few minutes after the flood started and police didn't let me pass...got real lucky. The footage doesn't do it justice to be honest...it was way worse...
