I'll be getting some paint done at some stage. One of the decisions to make is whether or not to keep the red Z emblem on the nose panel. Yay or nay? Yes: No:
I am a huge fan of the red badge (not so much the black one) but it looks extremely clean without it in the above picture. Bonnet looks a million times better without those vents too.
Someone is selling nose panels for $10 so why not buy them before you get the paint done. You can then have your choice of aftermarket vented, OEM badged or OEM badgeless on the day.
If you have a special badge (like a gold one or a custom one) then yeh - its ok But I think they look better/ cleaner without them. I'm sure theres a few that agree with me.
Imo, your car look clean as hell without the badge. I have a plain panel on my zed. No badges, no vents. I like how good it looks and im still trying to find a vented panel i like.
I'm in two minds. Does look cleaner without it. I understand others who are saying keep it cause it is a genuine 2k Z32. It's already far from stock standard already though & I have no intentions of reverting it back. So that said, not caring what the badge represents... what do you prefer? Don't forget to vote!
I think on other colours a shaved badge looks good. But on you're white one one the badge brings symmetry. Without it it looks a bit, meh. One of these badges would sit nice if you weren't keen on the red one.
Nose badge breaks the front up.. Keep it As suggested already, nose panels are cheap, just have one debadged, and one with a badge, and you can swap at your leisure :zlove:
I've gotta ask about that. People spend thousands slapping 2k parts on pov-spec Zs. You go and buy the rarest possible model of Z, and start changing everything? Why not just get a '90? They already don't have the badge
Let me correct that for you. I bought a 2k Z that had already had a lot changed on it. Want to know what I've changed so far? I've fixed up the condition of the exterior & interior (paint/panels/trim). I've purchased a genuine '99 fascia and have a fully rebuilt race spec VG to drop in to it. Hardly consider that changing everything
Jono ... looks naked without the "red zed" ... keep it ..... and for Mike .. do not think the "red zed" was a 2k only job ... i have one on a black nose panel with a "red zed" from way back.
Well fair enough. But then why buy a 2K if it's so changed? Or was the 2K status of less importance to you than the state of the car itself?
Because at the end of the day, whether is is changed/modified or not it is still a 2000 model Z. I always wanted a slicktop, I wanted a manual, I wanted a twin turbo, I love white Z's. The fact it was a extremely rare 2k version S sealed the deal. I never planned to sell the 2+2, but couldn't let this pass me by. I wasn't not going to get it because it had been modified :zlove: Thanks to all who have given their input. Looks like the badge will be staying.
