    Hi Guys,

I jumped the ditch to WA a year ago and am having zed withdrawal symptoms, back home I have owned a few Z32's and a Z31.
Now that things are settling down I would love to have another go at a project I had to give up on which was an 85 2 seater Z31 factory turbo manual that was getting a transplant consisting of an RB25/30 and BNR32 Gearbox cut down to 2WD.
I had the parts but no money to build it up, things have changed and now I want another! So what are my chances of finding a 2 seater Z31 for a steal so I can justify heavily modding it.

    Regards,
    Ash

Pretty good if you are happy starting out with an auto.

Yep, factory turbo manual 2 seaters are quite rare here.

not a lot of z31's around, and even less 2 seaters......

would be a pretty wild project though.....

why use the gtr box when you could just use a 5 speed gtst-gtt box instead...?

Cheers guys I should have explained better, I am after any z31 2 seater: auto, manual, NA, Turbo or no engine and Gbox as long as its only a SWB.

As for the GTR box I got it super cheap and the 2WD conversion was done as a trade for some parts, this time around I will use a RB25DET big box.

    Cheers

    And engine conversion will be a RB26 or a 26/30 but not a 25/30

Nothing wrong with 25/30, specially with a Neo head. Solid lifters and VVT.

I am considering a 2+2 if all else fails pitty you are on the opposite side of the country, may even get a 200zr then half the work is already done.

I've seen a couple of 200zr's around the place, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one. Good to see another Z31 fan. :)

Its unfair mate none of them are in WA, id be keen on the 2k one on gumtree, all the z31's here are 2+2 or expensive.

to the best of my understanding, the slicktops are only 2 seaters......thats definately the case with the z32 body style, and i thought the same for z31.

call the guy and go look, cant hurt. look how many spares and stuff there are, might be worth the money purely for all the bits youll get for the nexty car lol!

Sure enough I checked with the seller it is a 2+2 I thought I could see what looked to be a rear seat in the photo of parts.

Will call the seller and discuss it but in all honesty I would offer less due to no being registered and myself having to travel 1200km to collect.

My 85 NZ new 2 seater turbo manual t-top was 1k delivered but had no engine a gbox.

    This looks like a "California"...

Turbo, flaired wheel arches, wider body-coloured spoiler rather than the black urethane of the "ordinary" Turbo Z31, etc.
And with all those interior spares, you should be able to get it looking as-original.
    Quite rare! Go for it!
