Theo since its designed for the R34, is there one that fits a zed? Or are they the same?

Actually that's a good point. I thought they were the same, but looking at the photos they might not be...

I think they would fit. The control arm brackets are pretty flimsy. I have seen them flex with a mechanic swinging on spanners removing and replacing upper control arms, so cornering would have heaps more load, can only imagine how much it flexes. Nismo know this is hence made this product.

On our race car we deleted the upper control arm brackets whilst raising the role center, we mounted the control arms directly to the chassis. This set up is much lighter and stiffer.

You should order a set John, see if it fits a Z32. If not you can always sell to your skyline buddies :)

I could measure next time we have a GTR on the hoist. Knowing Nismo they wouldn't be cheap and not many buyers. We could make similar from light weight and strong Chrome Molly, but again how many buyers?

I'd buy a set of actual Nismo ones if there's an improvement.

I posted those pictures a couple of years ago

The file name in the pictures that you posted has my file name in it :)
There is another company in Japan that also makes these.

If everything goes well, I could start making these

According to Nismo 2011 catalogue page 65 it has listed for GTR R33 and GTR R34 part number: 55450-RRR45. I suspect they fit all Nissans though. They don't cost as much as I thought 34,650 YEN + air freight.

I don't really see a need for them .. especially for the average street car that does an occasional track day.

but I cant run them anyway my pivot points are moved and stronger .

    money spent better elsewhere

I think this would be a good kit to add if you want to do drag racing or serious track work, street cars would not gain anything at all unless you are mental (some of us are I guess).

To bad Nismo already made them so they are off limits to anyone else or we may suffer the wrath of the anti copy bullies.

That's why I asked John to grab a set and find out, if they don't fit the Z32, he has a client base that he could readily sell to.

Wow, great response. I'd love to jump in on a group buy regardless of manufacturer so long as the item comes with a good user account or two.

Also there are companies that sell cradle gusset plates in a kit that you Tig weld to brace the upper control arm brackets. From the factory R33 and R34 GTR have more bracing or gussets than the R32's.

These gusset kits and member bracing are not bling and not seen but definitely a good idea for big hp cars, with big tyres ( Black Beast) especially if going to the track.

We had another look and think about it and realised the pic fitted shows they bolt to the lower control arm at the front of the lower control arm bracket on the cradle, which is about 50mm lower on a R33/34 and S15 (for less anti squat and better traction) compared to S13/14, R32 and Z32. So no these Nismo ones won't fit Zeds.

So if there was enough interest we could make a bunch and make better than Nismo as Tig welded not mig and Chrome Molly?
