Like I said, it's been modified... it looked like this once almost identical to yours but better fitting
 hahaha... Knew someone would have to bite, but didn't think its was going to be you. Ozx_320 and are I are always natterring away in Chat. Just threw that "welcome" in as a bit of a stir.
Compression test results are in- #1- 125PSI #2- 135PSI #3- 125PSI #4- 135PSI #5- 125PSI #6- 95PSI Leadown test today confirmed piston rings as the culprit. Will wait for last shopping list of parts from Martin to make it a fully complete car and then sell. Tis a shame, motor runs deceivingly smooth, doesnt burn or leak oil anywhere.
can still be driven with low compression though. looks like a tidy car, and perfectly fine to drive until a rebuild or fresh motor can be found and afforded.
agree. The car drives surprisingly well...... making me question the compression on my '90 2+2TT. Apart from the stupid low king springs (which will be getting changed out) it drives and handles very well. Odometer indicates under 80k on the clock...... and for the first time, I'm inclined to believe it. '95 model, imported in '02 and not registered since '07. Tell tails like the steering wheel, handbrake, associated boots, moulds and rubbers etc all indicate a very well maintained car. It's just unfortunate, with the previous owners forum history, not that much information on the vehicle is available. Once the final finishing bits are fitted, will get some more comprehensive photos. Bloody amazing how many small bits and pieces were missing. How many k's can you honestly rack up if the car was predominantly used for track purposes?? :br:
