Hi all, been havin a hard time finding an electric passenger seat so i'm thinking about getting some lhd drivers tracks from the us, although these ones might be a bit too expensive i think: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...akeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en Has anyone done this before? Is it as simple as just bolting it in and wiring it up or is there things that are different that will need modifying? Cheers Josh
yeiks... you should be able to find a working electric seat pair with minimal damage to the covers for $300.... either that or i sold mine too cheaply! a near perfect condition electric passenger velour seat went for 350... ill also keep an eye out, there must be some around from wrecks for much less than buying a rail like that from the US!
Haha yeah bit too dear eh, i'm recovering the seats i've got so just the rails would do but wouldn't get that one
unless you want to limit the functions of the US LHS drivers seat, you can't just swap rails. J-spec electric passenger seats don't have the same full function as the drivers does. Motors in the rear of the seat itself will prevent you from swapping over to a US rail (unless you want to have positions on the knobs that don't work). Sold my spare electric leather passenger for $100, and leather condition was stuffed. You want one from a '93+ J-spec. '93 if you want leather, 94 upwards for velour. Unfortunately, you won't stand much of a chance finding one over here.
you cant mod passenger seats? unless they were originally designed for electrics... meaning you need electric seats to start with....
I sold my perfect condition velour electric seats, both drivers & passengers just recently. I had it up for sale for a while but had no interest & lot of time wasters!!! Glad its gone to nice zed ive seen another set at a wreckers a while back, but they have closed down so not sure where all the cars have been moved to. Good luck. Abraham
