I need all new glass and wonder where to get these from: windscreen drivers side window drivers side quarter window passenger side window passenger quarter window and maybe the hatch window (yep I took a chip out of the edge removing the bloody thing and not sure if the rubber moulding will cover it or not yet). The quarter windows look easy enough to get from Concept Performance, but as for the other glass I'd prefer to get it from Australia to lessen the chance of it breaking in delivery. Does nissan still sell these ? Does windscreens obrien sell these? No need to offer any second hand glass as I'm set of brand new glass. Also because no bugger makes 2+2 fibreglass doors I'm going to make them myself so anyone with a good set of 2+2 doors I'll make you an offer.
Given everything else you've done is it worth getting Lexan windows? It should be fine for everything except the windscreen which you should be able to get from any autoglass fitter.
I was thinking of using lexan for the hatch glass but prefer the real thing for the rest of the glass.
I'm thinking of having a go at making my own Lexan windows, seems simple enough in principle, may take a bit of practise in reality. Otherwise if you contact a supplier of Lexan/Perspex or something they'll be able to put you in touch with someone who can shape it for you if they don't do it themselves.
Yes - Windscreens O'brien quoted me $550 for the windscreen only a month ago. Nissan will charge a fortune for windows - the rear hatch is about 2.5k (someone quoted here not so long ago) - lol So stick with Obriens rather than nissan, they can also make glass to suit - so you should be alright with them goodluck
Paid $230 to have old windscreen pulled and new supplied and fitted, with new top rubber. Admittedly, the rubber wasnt OEM, but fitted fine.
I think someone down here got one from one of the mobile glaziers for about $180 so you should be able to do far better than $500
Over the years, I've replaced 2 windscreens, both times for under $180. Done through my mechanics, so I don't know who the supplier was.
I paid under $180 for a screen fitted, o'briens was talking circa $500 at the time. What you'll find though is the cheaper screens aren't oem, so depends how much of a factor that is for you.
O'Brien I believe go in with a big quote and then drop the price to get you over the line if needed. Anyone looking for glass try your local auto club (eg RACV/RACQ/NRMA) -they all have a contract glass service and will normally offer good discounts for members.
I too would like some new glass.... I too would like some new glass for the doors. It's looking old, with some deep scratches in the glass, and upon close inspections, takes away the niceness of the exterior. I haven't asked Nissan for prices yet, but I can only imagine how much it would cost. Also, being for the 2+2, I would assume it would be cheaper since the Aus-spec zed is 2+2.
I've had a look.... But I can't seem to find it on his website. When I get a chance, I'll shoot him an email and see how much it would be for him to get it from Nissan.
Cool -I'll hit up my local nissan might be able to do something if I order through my company. Let's see what we can come up with... Anyone able to make this a little easier by getting me part numbers? Brisz are you reading?
Courtesy have them and the price seems fair, coz must be able to get them. But by the time they get here from the states the price would possibly be doubled. I'd hit up nissan aus first, just for a laugh. http://www.courtesyparts.com/kb_search_result.php?keywords=[80301]+\(Z32&cPath=882_883_1024_1033 http://www.courtesyparts.com/kb_search_result.php?keywords=[80300]+\(Z32&cPath=882_883_1024_1033
