I am soon due for my 100k service on my baby. So i have rang a few places and have found out a little bit. I tried the search already bracket before you ask. Apparently it works out cheaper to buy a 100k service kit and take the parts to someone and get the work done there. So i jumped on the interent as you do and looked for 100k service kits. Eventually got to ebay and found these two options. http://www.ebay.com/itm/300ZX-Z32-9...Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2c61c14bd3 http://www.ebay.com/itm/300ZX-Z32-9...Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2c61c14bcd Which is the one that i am looking for?
Go for the 120k kit imho. Chances are your idler bearings are worn out and noisy and haven't been replaced in the past 20 years.
have you checked the kit content against that supplied by Coz ... for both the 60,000 and 120,000 kits ... ???
I'd get the 120K kit, and I'd also add the RameyZ HD Idler studs to the package. Cheap piece of mind IMHO http://czp.us/Cart/description.php?II=2291&Car_Type=300&UID=2012101606583766.228.80.226
Are you saying Coz's 60K and 120K are the same as the ones on eBay? Because the two eBay links are different.
All this in mind should i be going for the one with the two pulleys for a 100k service? so the 120k kit on ebay? or a kit from coz because as far as i can see they have the same equipment.
The CZP kits include non-OEM components. He does offer complete Nissan kits as well, but also sells 60K kits with GMB and other components. As far as I can tell, the OEM kits on eBay are using OEM components, in OEM boxes. Some of the prices are out of date, but I'm sure they're still relative. Including the RameyZ studs and silicone bypass hoses is the way to go, IMHO. Also getting a crank sprocket is a good idea in case you need to cut the old one off.
My bad. I missed the 2 extra pullys. But I was sure when I compared them first, the (plain text) pulleys were not listed. I'll blame being old and blind I will add I have dealt with that company and they are excellent to deal with.
might wanna look at the bypass hardpipes as well. See that the hoses are mentioned, but not the bolt on pipes. Good time to throw in a plenum pull as well. NA is just as important as a TT. * Intake cam Gaskets * 1/2 moon rubbers in exhaust * Sealant for exhaust cam covers * Fuel hose * EGR delete... or DIY * Balance Pipe o-rings * Upper Plenum Gasket * Coilpack connectors * Injector connectors * Extra injector connectors for CTS, IACV, FICD * PCV Hose Kit- your old hoses will be brittle/ hard as shit * IACV Hose kit- your old hoses will be brittle/hard as shit List can potentially go on and on and on- radiator, radiator hoses, vacuum lines, AIV Delete, PRVR delete. Dont opt for the "HI flow water pump pulley" unless you're running and UD crank pulley.
Unless they're super corroded there's no need to replace those. Remove, clean up and reinstall; sure. But replacement would only be necessary if they're pitted beyond repair.
I have actually enquired in the past regarding the ebay kits...it is a nissan dealership that sells them & all the parts are oem when i last checked...if coz's kits arent all oem then i would choose the ebay seller over coz Abraham
To be fair, Coz does offer a cost reduced version with GMB idlers and other brand components, with some Nissan OEM parts: http://czp.us/Cart/description.php?II=3849&Car_Type=NIS300&UID=2012101712085966.228.80.226 And he also offers a 100% Nissan OEM kit, about $70 more. http://czp.us/Cart/description.php?II=1265&Car_Type=NIS300&UID=2012101712085966.228.80.226
Some nice comparisons there BigTDogg. You could say that the crank sprocket is guaranteed in needing to be cut off - so count on getting one for sure. Timing Cover washers also tend to crack into pieces when being taken off/on (they are twenty years + old now) - it might pay to get a few if they look like they are going to fall a part.
Thanks! And if you want to be sure that pulley slides off easily next time, put a thin coat of antiseize on the crank before sliding the new sprocket on. Same with the crank pulley.
