Hi guys, Recently bought a set of red LED's for my dash, pods, dome and map reading lights. I know he has posted the installation instructions but I do not feel that confident in doing the installation myself. Looking for someone in the Perth region who would be able to do this small amount of work for me. Just thought I would add also, for those of you who arent familiar with the group buy I purchased these LED'S from, there will be a small amount of soldering required, and some of the lights may need slight modification in order to properly fit and correctly light up. Beer or cash as payment, up to you PM or reply to this thread if interested.
Hahaha.... I'm sorry but if you can't do this job on your zee, what good will you be with even changing a belt? Lol
????? Mate some people that can pull motors and do lots on a zed don't feel that confident doing electrics. And before you go slinging the guy off the led conversion is a pita, I have done lots of work on zeds and still don't like doing led conversions.
try Try Chris ( ezzupturbo ) or Dave ( vader ) they are both good with electrics and such. Hope this helps, Andy
Dude, if he can work on motors then he can unscrew the cluster and pods... It takes seconds... The as Rob stated you pull a globe out then then put in an led! Wtf can't he work that put for? So at home does he call an electrition to change a bulb? For the job I'm doing tho in my other thread, that's just me being a perfectionist. So ignore all that.... But as far as the led conversion kit rib provides its just taking out a globe and putting in an led... No brain work involved! I got the white kit, and white is a bit harder to work with versus other stronger colours

Im only 18, have never worked on any car (let alone one such as complicated as this one) engine, electrical or otherwise. This is used as my daily car currently so cant mess anything up or I will be without a lift to work, not that I am likely to screw up anything major, but something very small can be a lot of work for someone who wouldnt know where to look to fix. That being said I will print of installation instructions and give it a go tomorrow myself, as my last dash light has just gone so I wont be able to see the dash in the dark, so attempting it myself it my only option at this point.
That linked wite-up is pretty good. There's also a couple of good How-To's on the 3ZC site as well. I'm not sure what Rob's kit all includes, but there are some people that will also colour match the passive bulbs that reside in the bottom trough of the cluster as well. There's various opinions as to their usefullness as they do add an extra amount of light in a passive way to your various gauges. Being that you're using red, I would think that using red bulbs in that lower area would do well. That stayed with the white colour found that the extra supplemental lighting was just a tad too bright. If you got extra red bulbs with your kit, I would plunk them in there.
Go for it mate! Pods out first, two screws for each underneath them, lift from bottom and the top unhooks, disconnect plugs. Remove the two screws holding the hazard switch in, carefully pop the hazard light button off and remove the connector. On the inside where the pods sat you will see find a total of 4 screws, remove them Binnacle off next. Two screws under the binnacle in front of the guages, lift from front and the back has to tabs that will just slide out From top side there are two plugs on top of the guages slide them off there holder and disconnect. Unscrew the two bolts holding the metal support on at the top of the guages. The plastic underside of the binnacle/pod holders and metal support will all just lift out. There is now just two screws holding the guages in at the bottom of it. Lift the guages carefully twisting upwards and remove the three plugs on the back... Be careful! The plugs have two tabs you need to depress as you pull the plugs out. So then the rest is as all the other instructions out there... Piss easy, the thing is... You own a zed.... And you need to learn how to do things yourself otherwise you will have to sell all your limbs plus some organs to fix it!
