no. decrease in performance actually. Venting metered air into the atmosphere. Car is fitted with factory recirc valves which are more than ample for a moderate modification list

BOVs have ZERO performance benefit at all, lol. If anything they hinder performance on Manuals because in between shifting gears you let your foot off the accelerator, when the majority of BOVs vent metered air, not only that this mess with your AFR ratios, but you'll spend more time spooling when you go to mash the accelerator for the next gear.

On an Auto the only time a BOV will really do... anything, would be after you let go of the throttle completely after doing a hard launch, go through a few gears then back off. At which point you'll hear that lovely 'PSCHHHT', and thats it.

Guess that makes me a wanker. Meh, I don't care, yes its all for wank factor, but I like it so I'm keeping them, simple as that lol. And if you want them, then by all means. At least now you know more about them.

+1. If you think you don't want blow off valves, you haven't heard SSQV 3's!

    Because

bov's let metered air escape there is some over fueling. Imagine how many times over the period of a year they go off, and then think about what the inside of your engine looks like, ie valves, combustion chamber, 02's, cats, exhaust, manifolds ect ect. They filth up engines and pollute the atmosphere, but the sound is disappointingly

They do let metered air escape though to the point of it running rich and creating a build up of carbon deposits I don't think so.
From a performance point it is simply there to vent between compressor housing and throttle body so when you accelerate you start to spool sooner.
Re-circs would be the way to go though I'm keeping my HKS SSQV bovs. ;)

How much is seriously being lost? Enough to cause hektik flames.... No. That slight amount of over-fueling would be burnt soon as you get back onto the pedal.

    LOL yes!

I use BOV's for no other reason that to minimise compressor stalling/surge on sudden throttle offs from boost which would be what they are fitted for in the first place stock.
However i dont use AFM's so vent to atmo FTW.
recircs are for MAF setups. No fuelling up on gearchanges however virtuslly no hiss either....

The notion they reduce lag between gears is just bollocks but surprisingly still widely accepted as a strong marketing point.
The sound they (vent to atmo) make is a consequence but I happen to like it. Only a soft kind of *sigh* tho.
