Good day today with the Skyline challenge against the Rotarys, with three zeds thrown in. Andy, myself and geffo in the ford traveled down to wakefield at 5 in the morning, temerature dropped to minus 2 on the way down resulting in ice forming on the cars. Racing got under way when the fog lifted and it turned into a nice sunny day. Plenty of runs for everybody and passengers enjoying ( i think) rides in the passenger sessions. Either my car is out of balance or i'm just a show off as my two fastest laps of the day were when the girls were passengers, run a 1.11.33 and a 1.11.88, best i could do on my own was a 1.12.12, go figure? Can we run the Nats again? Car run good all day except for some brake fade due to going out in consecutive sessions, Andy had some brake issues also, travelling home with no pads left. Jp having some small teething issues with the slot car, but getting better each meeting, we left him down there as he's competeing there again tomorrow with the NSCC boys. Big thanks to Geffo (Oni) for all his help, (still a Zeder at heart) Times http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?28/05/2011.WAKE.S3.Y
So all good with the cam gear adjustment and taking the lag out? Thought you were past the hormone stage for putting pedal to the metal. Should have got the girls in bikinis, you might haved shaved off another 3 tenths.
Pretty much Dino Car is back to where it was before but with more oomph. Still has some lag which we will work on to see if we can improve it. Always trying to impress the ladies.
I was planning for a drive down but to many time zone's lead to a wicked cold, been off work for 2 days, Oni ( Geffo ) is a true Z person. Hopefully will catch up at time attact, As for the drags, i have no new new mods,so i will pass, ross
Never worked so hard, but i like the travel, each OS trip is a bounenes, Later on this year The USA . (still planning a Z event and speedway meet ) We even imported a NZ driver this year for 2 shows, ross
we had a great day going for runs in the zeds today. big thanks to Ron, Andy and JP for letting us go shotgun. the slotcar is one weapon of a car to ride in. the grip that thing has is unbelievable, even powering out of corners it just hold on. Andy was pushing his car really hard too and for a standard engine it bloody hammers. and Ron, Rach was impressed with your "moonshine runner" driving style . she said she could hardly stay in the seat. thanks heaps guys hope to see you soon at the SAU drag day.
haha hectic he was giving it some.. sad i couldnt get out now but did get to have a good chat to JP this evening before he went home.. Finished top 3 i believe ? how did you go wiz ?
About to slip Under the R31 at the end of the straight, Is that you i see parked on the grass in the background Andy?, wondered what happened to you.
Natsoft times Are in the first post, finished 16th, was quicker than that in the passenger sessions but they are not timed.
Yeah thats me Went a little hard coming out of the hook, thought I had it then it bit, and I didn't have it anymore....but like everone else around here I'll blame HICAS. And 2 laps later I destroyed the last of my pads. Good fun day though, best time was first session out of the gates when the air was crispy cool and there was some residual fog, a 1:13, but couldn't match it the rest of the day, just shy of it. Wouldn't mind seeing a complete lap timing sheet of all my laps.
I couldn't make it on saturday .. glad the car is back from lag city ..Ron . Did make it to the NSCC today though .. had ride in Slotcar ,doesn't handle too bad at all :br:
Yeah, slot car A piece of work eh, opens your eyes. Not quite back from lag city yet, but a big improvement, be interested in your ideas as to what i can do to get it comming on earlier (no nos)
I would jump on the selin group buy for a start ...so you can run dual maf intakes . then there is all the spool /midrange/torque gains from bigger intercooler piping /throttle bodies etc ..as seen on SZ testing on all different size turbos but this gets expensive E85 more tuning advanced timing?
From memory, he already jumped on dual AFM's. smaller exhaust housings or manifolds. You swapped out onto the big AMS mani's didn't you Ron? You can go too big, the more you reduce the pressure on the head side of the turbo with bigger manifolds, the less scavenge effect you get through the turbo. With the headroom left in those turbo's, you can easily run smaller exhaust housings and achieve the same power, or swap out the manifolds with your old ones but get them honed. It's not all about flow.
he is still running single intake you dont change smaller housings on a GT28RS (unless .86) ..its already .64 . its the most balanced size turbo around (housing and wheels) but with you with the manis .. AMS runners are also slightly bigger than mike smith as well. can always try and wrap them I'm actually going to buy a set of Mikes now and compare them .
