    Z32

Just wondering what i can do to my Z32...

It my first car and it is my dream car and i love it to bits.. I wanna make it be the best that i can do its pretty stock standard atm but hoping to flip on body kits exhaust rims etc

Is that more things i can do to it to make the dream car..

If anyone has numbers or now anyone who can hook me in with stuff and get me parts accessories then this would be very appreciated..

If you wanna look at my car go to my profile and take a look at my little beast for your self...

    Thanks, Jake

Hey mate might have to put this in the z related non technical section.

Anyway, welcome to the forum glad your enjoying the Z. Few questions, Is it turbo or N/a ? Auto or Manual ? Targa or Slicktop?

Firs things first i would do a quick tuneup ( oil, filters, plugs ) then maybe a quick dyno and compression test and see how healthy the engine is.

If its all good upgrade your exhaust, get some strut bars, freshen up the suspension bushes. Get a decent looking front bar, remove the stone guard, get it resprayed and have fun!

to find out the best parts just do a search on the forum and look in the for sale by business section theirs plenty of feedback for all the items.

    Welcome to the forum Jake!

First thing, get it mechanically sound - no use having awesome rims, bodykit and stereo system in a Z that sits idle in your garage...

Plenty of WA members/recommended garages that can look over your car, plus check if you need a Series II PTU, compression test, condition of suspension, bushings and hoses, pod filter.

Get all that seemingly 'boring' preventative stuff done (and yes, it may cost a bit of money) and it will be worth the cost, I promise! Once it's running smoothly, THEN you can start spending on your wanted list - rims, stereo, suspension, bodykit, upgrade ecu, intercooler, engine bay bling, cleared taillights, leather interior, respray, new OEM parts, etc.

    ENJOY!!! :)

Welcome to the forum Jake. Im with the others on this...my zed is my first car too and i made sure my engine was in great condition before i started with the sound and looks...make sure you do a complete engine check inc change all fluids and filters as well as get a plenum pull completed along with s2 ptu and all bypasses completed. Also ztoy is a fellow member here that makes bumpers and other items for the zed and his prices and really good and quality is impressive from what ive seen...and plus if you ever need anything or got any questions then just post it up and you will get an answer for sure as the members here are really friendly and helpful...welcome again and good luck.

PTU is just a power transistor unit, sounds fancy but its not much. They just wear out over time, mines a 1990 which is 21yrs old now it has a series 1 ptu which still works just fine. Sure probably should change it but its not life and death here.

    Welcome Jake.

FYI - not many people here are into the drifting/boostcruising/SAU scene, so you may want to reconsider the "Drift God" title - basically not welcome.

However, if you meant nothing by it, then please ignore my statement, and enjoy your stay :)

    As for what to do..
    Clean connectors
    Get stable idle
    Check for/Clear codes
    Replace fluids/filters/sparkplugs
    Get new catback exhaust
Get 4 wheel alignment (Get adjustable camber arms - front and back, if necessary)
    Replace S1 PTU
    Do AIV delete
    Do 100,000 service
Do Plenum Pull and hose deletes
    Do EGR delete
    Replace tension rods if necessary
    Fix clock
    Fix cargo blind
    Get ztoy front bar
    Get new interior
    Get new paint job

You should be able to do that lot in an arvo vader, not much there.:D
Your in good hands here jake, great place to be too. Plenty of knowlegable folk here more than happy to help out a fellow zedder.

Definately bring it to someone who knows Zeds. You will learn how to fix cars very quickly with this as your car, i assure you ;)

Where abouts in perth are you?

you should do nothing to it.

it's NA, it's auto. you'll probably get bored of it after a 6 months and want turbo and/or manual.

not being a dick, just saying since it happens all the time: new member buys NA auto, plans a whole lot of mods, eventually plans to convert it to TT before giving up and finally selling to buy a factory TT because it's just cheaper and easier.

before dumping any money on it, decide if you just want to drive it around for a while and then buy another or do you absolutely must modify this one.

Light mods and maintenance arent a complete write off...

    Maybe:

    Exhaust/headers
    Pod
    Shift kit
    Tune maybe
    Suspension

Thats about it really. The above might reap another 20kw tops but as mike mentioned, maybe just some rims, suspension and exhaust for the time being. Till u wanna upgrade to TT :)

Im guessing he is a p plater like myself and so unless he wants to risk it...keeping it as it is, is a good idea. Mine is a 92 NA manual zed so only difference would be that yours is auto whereas mine is manual.
I intend to turbo my car eventually but i plan on doing it once im off my p's. Also a NA block is better for TT than a TT block...well that's what ive understood from what ive read.
So in my opinion if you going to keep your zed then do the right things to it like plenum pull, services, bypasses, s2 ptu, compression test...which should be your basics.
Then once you know your engine is in good condition then you can always do mods like i have done which will give you the extra power and which wont hopefully get you in trouble with the cops. Ive got dual intake, pulley set, exhaust, extractors and a few other stuff like new radiator. So firstly make sure your engine is good then save up and spend your $$ doing it up. And also get your manual licence and get your zed converted because manual is always the best 

Here in WA you can drive a quad turbo charged V12 on your L's if you wanted to
ie no limitations on engine capacity or natural/artificial aspiration, so I don't think that's going to factor into his decision.

Cheers for advice i live down in rockingham area so if anyways close and wants to have a look and play around im more than happy to...

Im not a p platers yet unless a moped counts but ive been driving cars for a while with grandparents and family..

i never intended on gettin a tt coz of family reason with having so many car deaths in family over powerful cars so i had to make a choice either get a crappy 4 cylinder or get a non turbo zed im not to much into the power of a car more in wat i can make it look like and how loud i can get it power means nuffin to me realli
