Picked mine up from the Motor trimmer today

Got my car back today so I thought I show it off. Very happy :zlove: The Motor Trimmer was pretty impressed with quality and very impressed with what we paid through the Group buy.

    wow! love it!

How much was it all up, inc. postage @ the group buy price? And what did you pay for installation?

Group buy cost was $725 and I got everything except dash cover. Freight was $65 and the installation was way way too much at $2,000!! including the extra bits, but they did do a great job and they did the lot. I just drove the car in and they did the dismantling and then reinstalling. It took them a week!!! In hindsight, I should have just taken all the bits in and saved a heaps on labour. Still very cheap for a nice leather interior professionally installed.

Christ man... $2000 for labor?!?!?!

$810 for my kit. $300 to do the seats

Here are some teasers... not entirely done yet. Just had the seats done today and on my next few days off, I will be removing the rest of the tweed. I've already done the Handbrake Glove / Handle and Gear Boot / Handle myself.

Looks great and the quality looks good too. Is that red or pink stitching? One thing I'll say is it looks like a little extra foam could have been used in a couple of places to fill out the covers completely.

Quality seemed much better before I uploaded it, even at 480p (original was recorded at 800x480). Anyhow, its only about a minute long for anyone interested.

Hey, did you have the issue that the QLD group has, with one piece being glued on the wrong way around? Middle piece that doesn't match up leather in pic below:

If yes, was it an easy fix for your installer? No answer yet from Khalid in GB thread.

All those pieces are still wrapped up, so I don't yet, but I'm following it to. Not going to be happy if it becomes a large issue.

Only $300 for for two seats, you must know someone in the industry, because at about an $100 an hour, that is only one and half hours per seat!!! I hope it is done right!
    But they do look great.

Yep, the guy used to own a shop on Parramatta Road a few years ago but due to personal reasons went back to working from home. Hes be doing car upholsteries since around '76 I believe. Hes a real close friend of a friend of my dad's whom I done a favour just recently.

I spoke to him about if it were possible to get some other 300ZX guys with their kits in NSW and he said that would be fine (who doesn't more work right? lol) and he said for $300 he would do the same, re-trimming the seats with the new covers. Though before anyone thinks about going this route I would strongly recommend they have a look at my seats in person, just to be sure they are happy with the man's quality of work up close just so there are no surprises.

He mentioned he liked the design but felt the leather used was a bit soft, which I agree with, but time will tell now if it lasts.

I've heard that sections of those 'tontine style' roof insulation bats are perfect for filling out creases as the new covers are being put on (or even ripping up an old pillow or two!).

You know I wasn't sure about the orange stitching when you told me you were getting it, but you know it works. I like it and you have something different than anyone else. Well done Emile.
