Hey guys, so im stuck on buying new rear wheels bearings for my car (there both dead) its for 90 model rear knuckles (i think). I was under the belief i needed to find ones that have the 5stud lug part attached. And also none pictured have the top section where the 5th bolt goes through. but none i find do: Ebay one Coz for 89 model coz for other models Also how do you tell the difference between the 89 and 90 onwards model as i have no clue which mine are exactly.
Your in luck I received 2 bearings yesterday (OEM equivalent replacements) they are the 5hole type, with the large bolt hole at the top. I got them for a 91 NA cradle im rebuilding. I paid 220 USD delivered for 2, took under a week to arrive. They go by the name Timken 511011, they have NTN bearings and the box says they are made in Japan, I think they have been relabled. I tried sourcing them at about a dozen online shops in the US and none would post outside the US, I found one that would: www.rockauto.com. I compared them to the old ones I removed and test fitted them they are pretty close if not spot on. I cant guarantee the Timlen 511011 will fit both a TT and NA, the ones I have were always labelled for NA after build date March 1990. You can search all their bearings at timkeninfo.com
hard day at work eric? must have got some grease in your eye cause your reading abilities seem to be impared, the wheel hub for tt and na have two different part numbers I suspect this is because they are of a different diameter, hence the bearing would logically have a different diameter. As mentioned the one I got is always labelled for NA and there is no mention of it being of use on a TT. I have looked up the parts guide from the manufacturer, they only list an early model tt rear wheel bearing, which not great but should be of use to those who have 1989/1990 models.
Yeah TT bigger diameter NA wont fit I did the same thing terrible noise when bearing is scraping seized matt
It's very important to notice the "t"s. My dear old parents always enforced upon me the importance of "dotting all the "i"s and crossing all the "t"s. Look at all the trouble that's gotten me into for much of my latter life.:rofl::rofl::br:
