Good on ya for sharing mate. Glad you didn't put the new amp in the same place as the old one What kinda sub are you running? I saw one in a picture in a previous post. 10'?
Nice work, I dread the day something goes wrong with my audio setup, the wiring I can see in the boot when I take off the cover is insane.
Hey, was running a 12" kicker, just entry level. Not running any sub atm, I'm looking at buying a slimline JL sub and running it off a JL monoblock... I like JL
Radiator Bust Hey all, just thought I'd add this in my thread as it is my first real problem I've had with the Z, and I'd will be good to be able to see a before and after Was driving back from TAFE yesterday, when I got off the freeway and pulled up at a set of red lights. The guy next to me unwound his window and told me that I had smoke coming out of my bonnet... I looked and sure enough he was right, luckily he told me as it just started to happen. I quickly looked down at my temp guage, and it was still just under half way, just like normal. I knew no serious, if any, damage had been done. I quickly turned the car off, put my hazards on and called work who was conveniently less than 1 minute away from the break down. I was hoping they could flat tow me back to work but after a lot of persuasion they convinced me to drive it around the corner to them. While driving, my eyes never left the temp gauge, and the second it moved up, I turned the car off and let it sit for a few minutes before going a few hundred meters, just to be safe. Got it to work and had a proper look under the bonnet, and the problem was quickly spotted... The hose that leads from the top of the radiator to the engine had come off... With part of the radiator snapped off inside of it Called up Mark and got some advice from him about what I should do next... See this thread: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1142777#post1142777 Then called the tow truck and waited 90 minutes for a tow back to my house... Better than driving it and risking damage. Here are the only photo's I managed to get Least this gives me a chance to upgrade the cooling system, right..? Hope to have some new gear in asap, currently driving the run around car Cheers, Dean.
Radiator Install. So as some of you know my radiator top tank decided it want to break on me as I was driving home from TAFE last Monday... So instead of getting it repaired, I decided to upgrade it and get a Koyo 2 Row Radiator from CZP Ordered it Thursday, and it got to my house on Thursday, was stoked with how quick it came! That night, the old man and I had a crack at installing it with some help from the good old Tech Section Firstly, the broken radiator... Top radiator hoses removed. Fan shroud out. Look how much room we have without a radiator Who needs one right The comparison. Radiator in. The finished product. Now just need to sort out this over heating issue and I'll be good to go again! Cheers, Dean.
Genuine EL Panel Install Last Saturday me and a mate of mine got cracking to install my EL panel that I got off Anti Not many photo's as it is a very standard install, my 2K spec center panel came out, put the EL panel in, connected up the inverter, spliced one wire to the active of the parker lights and grounded the other. Very easy once I knew what both the inverters were haha The finished product: Till next time :zlove:
Clear Indicator Install Problem... I received my GZA Clear Indicators today in the mail and thought I'd quickly put them on seeing as it was a very quick/simple job... I was wrong Firstly a comparison: The indicator loom: The actual indicator: Thoughs? Perhaps I should cut the connector off my old indicators, solder it to my new ones and plug and play? Cheers, Dean.
The ones I got from the UK had the same problem, I just did what you are saying and cut them above the existing connector and attached from there.
So you just swapped the connectors yeah? That way the loom isn't hacked up, and its just plug and play right?
Just looking at your photos and noticed that your cas looks like it's one of the newer ones that can't be adjusted? Does your engine have the vvt solenoids fitted to the rear of the engine?
Yep thats right. I cut the new connector off the new indicators, cut the old connector off the old indicators and spliced in the old connector to the new indicators. Then plug and play.
I just cut some of the little "tags" off the old round bulb holder from the existing loom and screwed it into the new housing. Soldering on new connectors might be a neater solution though.
