Just wondering if the people who have done this mod, where they have connected the wires? Have they done it all in the engine bay or have they had to run wirer through the firer wall into the interior? I have searched but only found where the a/condenser has to be soldered on. Please no comments about putting the clutch fan back on.
Ran mine direct from the battery. Considering an average 16" thermo will dram 16A min, you will have to run a new, fused wire from battery to relay. As to how you switch your thermo relay will determine how you run your wiring. *Dont use the adjustable thermo switch that has to be put into the water source (copper line that has to be run underneath the radiator hose). It cuts through easily under the pressure of your hose clamp, preventing the thermo from operating* You can get set temperature thermocouple switches from Jaycar that you fix/glue to you radiator tank (requires alloy radiator), and use them as an earthed switching source for your relay. Try to incorporate switching from your existing wiring, ECU signals. Talk to a more knowledgable person with regards to this- Marc/zcare4life (or something like that), or Eric/drz400y. One more thing, if its a TT PUT YOUR CLUTCH FAN BACK ON. A $400 thermo, the highest flowing available, was still too close for comfort for me.
2nd that I dont think there is a thermo that can spin about 6000 cfm like our good clutch fan and sustain quality cooling
Are you talking stock aux thermo fan in front of the condensor? Then wiring is to the 2 wire plug that comes in from underneath the passenger side headlight. If your talking removing the clutch fan and changing to a thermo fan setup, then thats different.
