The oven is used to cure the coatings I apply. Unlike other coatings that are on the market the process in which I coat my parts is specific to the type of coatings I use. I must oxide the substrate then apply the coating...bake at suggested time and heat intervals. This makes the coating have an everlasting bond to the part and the coating will never come off. It has an adhesion/bond saturation between .003-.005"

that process is designed to done for rods that have a press fitment. All of the parts I use are full floating and require no heating/expanding of any kind. I machine clearances in all parts I use.

Learn something new everyday lol, always thought you needed a press to assemble pistons to rods.

What about in the combustion chamber, or do both piston, rod and gudgeon pin expand equaly, so the gudgeon pin stays tight?

aluminum expands faster/more than steel. Depending on the type of rod setup and or piston depicts which you have to thermal fit the pin to. Stock nissan rods are designed as a floating pin design. The pistons are press fit and the FSM suggests heating the pistons in oil before going to assembly.

A sign of someone with true attension to detail that 'office'.

Where is your cylinder borer or is this outsourced? Noticed the torque plate though.

What does a full race long motor capable of producing and holding around 1200HP cost? Will need piston clearance allowed for for a large nitrous shot at a later stage.

I machine my parts at a friends shop after hours. A full build of that caliber depends on the setup you want and what other details you want to include. There are so many options to build one of those. I don't use NOS on any of the engines I personally build...if the customer decides to use it I have to machine clearance and gap rings accordingly for the engines intended purpose. All of my engines are one off for the customer. I do not offer a basic off the shelf build. My business is geared at specializing and optimizing efficiency. I build/machine one engine at a time...thats the only way I keep my quality control as high as it is.

That should have read ATTENTION to detail :p It would seem mine wasn't as high that late at night!

I'm pricing a new motor atm and have been quoted a motor similar to this thread that would be capable of running that kind of HP so far, so I thought I'd ask you what you would need to do the same. It seems motors are so cheap in the US atm fully built when I don't think I could even get the parts here for the same money.

No worries, will do. I have 4 VG30DETT motors sitting in my garage, so maybe you should fly over, build a few and enjoy the beach before flying back

If you are serious about doing something like this let me know because I will gladly come out there do work if customers want me to do so. Maybe you guys can have a pot and chip in funds to fly me out and I can spend a week out there building a few engines for you all.

    Update...

did some mockup on the customers turbos and manifolds. I also drilled/tapped for EGT in the manifolds as well.
