As usual this event ran very smoothly with 100 entrants and vehicles of varying modifications, including two Z32's. :zlove: The format of the day was 12 cars per session of similar power with 3 flying timed laps, so plenty of opportunity to get a decent run and for me, to match my PB of 1:56.54. Track was clean and grippy although turn one seemed to be a little bumpier than I remembered. My best time was 2:01.59 although my GPS timer had me down for a 1:58.5, go figure. James Bozanic in his black 400+kw weapon of a Zed squeezed out a solid 1:51.28. Still, I had a lot if fun out there and thats what its all about. lap timeshttp://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?18/04/2010.EAST.S1 Unfortunately a nice blue S13 silvia messed up turn 1 at 180kph and busted up his drive directly in front of me, so after witnessing that, I decided to call it a day and pack up. It was nice to catch up with Chili with his beautiful wife Lyn, also Haylz arrived with her gorgeous mum for a look see and pennyarvs with the family, although by this stage I had packed up stumps, I will post up some pics when they arrive in the post. Here's some incar footage of the day from a different kind of zed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHYzpf7SPX8
Nice one Wayne Pity I missed it, i do love EC. Looking at the vettes video T1 does look rather bumpy. How'd the stoptechs go? This was your first session with them yeah? It's takes a bit of getting used to to really get the most of big brakes. It just feels wrong to brake so late into the corners.
Was good to catch up again Wayne(would have liked to be having a go myself). James is an interesting bloke(very quiet and pleasant to talk to)but obviously a bit of a Demon behind the wheel. I was surprised to find that his engine was built by the same guy that built mine, Spiro from Autotech Engineering(although his was done 3 years after mine). It was a fun day and was great to meet HaylZ's mum(very nice lady, "like Mother, like Daughter" as the saying goes).:zlove::zlove:
awww Wayne, such a charmer! My mum will forever refer to you as "that lovely man with the fast Zed" i had a good time there, even though it was short. Also took my mum over to the drap strip. she was VERY facinated watching the "drift school" and the Porsche club on the skid pan too! she's so cute taking an interest in my car stuff!! And Chili, your interior looks awesome!! you have to remind me who did it again so i can get seat repaired (or maybe even look at a full re-trim!! haha! :zlove
well done, wayne ... and many thanks for that Vid ..... tops ...!!! ..what was that green machine that passed the "vette" just after it came off 223kph ... it then disappeared into the sunset ... a real go machine ...
Sorry your wingman Wasn't there, damn work getting in the way again. give me some notice when your going again and i will come for a play.
Yep it will take some time to figure them out, as the chevzed barely used the brakes on T1, just seemed to roll off and turn in.
Thanks Baz, that beamer was the fastest on the day..... 1 441 Sam Markov BMW M3 (cap) 3200 (class) 4D (time) 1:40.9456*
I dropped down for the afternoon (+slick 97), good to see some familiar faces there. i was talking to the guy with the black zed, he said that he was a non - forum member, has owned his zed for 10 years, blown up 3 motors and the current one is producing 600hp. Didn't find out the list of mods though
