Hi all. This my first thread as I just picked up my Z on Wednesday. Took the young son for a blast and now reading low oil pressure. Freaked me out and drove the car home like granny. Checked the oil level and have a full dip stick. From reading the forums, I see that the OEM senders are crap. I know some of the Commodore senders fit the V6 engine, like the crank angle sender. My question is simply this: What is a good and reliable sender to replace the OEM one? Cheers Bill
Check this out mate, includes VDO part number http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.325
go aftermarket, stock oli gauge isnt worth shit anyway,if you want to fix it up,remove the sender and clean the hole with a small drill bit,it will be clogged
Agree, go aftermarket OP gauge.... For 'peace of mind' get a reliable aftermarket OP gauge and you can cross your 1st thing off the list of "Things to be done to the Zed". Yahoo.... ONE down, 973 to go  :bash:
The stock oil pressure gauge work fine imo, and so dose a new stock sender. If your keen you can relocate the sender to this position. [/IMG]
To all those responded, many thanks. Installed the new unit this morning. Found an adapter at work, but was worried about the male thread. Turned out I stumbled across the right one. Took the car for a run this arvo and the pressure hovers between 3 and 4 when warm, peaking at 7 when cold. Even at idle it's no lower that 3. Once again, many thanks. Cheers Bill
You could try what is in this old link about grounding the OPS: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=250183
