So its upgrade time.. I havent ever driven the zed and its already time to upgrade the turbos I have been looking around (ConceptZ) and I like the disco potato's (DISCO POTATO) and JWT Sport 700(Sport 700) Whats the differance between these - what would you go with and why? I am looking for very good streetable power

hmmm depends wat ya want it for.. i just got GT600R kit off Z1 haven put motor in yet but apparently come on hard just a little later than standard plus good bang for buck turbo kit and still good for daily use.. just my .02c
Really depends on the rest of the mods. 28RS turbos onto a stock motor with stock sized exhaust would be terrible.
The HKS 2530's were supposed to be well know for same top end power as the 28RS but with less lag. (hence why it's copyrighted only exclusively for HKS, - and expensive) wondering if this is a similar case for the sport 900 turbos....?
copyrighted?? Ben put down the TEDs, this isn't media and they don't flow to 28RS spec. HKS made a replacement CHRA for what is known as the the 28R back in the 90's with some wheel trimming, etc but with a slightly smaller exhaust housing for the faster spool. This is why they are a great turbo, but no good if they need new CHRA's, hard to get. Garret 28R, which is now sold as a Garret 2530, use a slightly larger exhaust housing than the HKS 2530 and a different CHRA.
Are you saying that the HKS2530 is same power as the GT28R? Don't think so, Haven't seen a pair of GT28R turbos on a Zed push 450rwKW. Lucky to see a GT28RS do that. ...and yes, HKS own the patent for the HKS2530. They're built exclusively for HKS - by Garrett, but you cannot buy these directly from Garrett. Garrett can ONLY make these turbos for HKS, then they sell them at rediculous prices. Have a chat to Cra-Z-boy, or WazTTed, they're the 2530 gurus.
Never said that boozehound...I said the HKS 2530 was based of the GT28R with less lag and more puff. HKS rated them to flow 350HP a piece which in real life with all the right mods could see 450rwkw. GT28RS are rated at the same amountbut with more lag. The new favourite on Rob's car (from memory) is the 2871R which is rated at 390 or 440 depending on trim.
