Whats the go with removing these, drill a hole and lever them out? The ones at the top, underneath the plenum, look a bit difficult to get a lever into.
The engine is in the car? that'll be fun, dont drill em, you'll end up with a brass fillings in the system, I've used a suitable sized drift to bang them in, which cracks the seal, easy to get out then.
Engine out of the car and stripped for recond. I have already bashed one in trying to use a chisel, it is now inside the block somewhere Hence the question.
for some reasion i have in my head that you need to bang on them to make them turn upside down? this may be the correct way or totally wrong.
thanks for that, did a 2 year auto course at school, learnt lots of stuff and seems like lots is fading.
The ones in this block are stainless steel and don't tilt easily. Ended up drilling holes across the ones on the top of the block then used a pinch bar to lever then out.
yep belt them in at the side or the top. This makes them flip on their edge you can then lever them out.
Nope,it must be the stainless steel plugs. Ended up drilling and levering all of them, not that hard really.
