Beautifull day for a drive, Myself and my friend who has a 91 GTO( 3000GT) went for a bit of a playfull drive up to the Mt Hotham summit this morning.

It was a good chance to compare the ZX and the GTO......years ago i lusted after the GTO mainly for the looks and its reputation .
Driving the car is vastly different than the Z, the car feels BIG and heavy. For a big car its has stuff all head room and also a very cramped driving position. The weight and 4WD takes its tol on acceleration to. not bad but nothing special.
Being 4WD it should shame the Z , but this is not the case...again it feels heavy.

As i said, years ago i really wanted a GTO, but now after having the Z there no way i would swap to a GTO.....:zlove:

I still want a GTO, beautiful cars imo. Wouldn't sell the zed tho I just want both :D They also seem to have held their value more, the one I was looking at was over $24k. Is it really that slow? NA or TT?

I love the look of GTO's, especially the late model (pictured below) but the weight factor always held me back from buying one.

It was more the price, they are hugely complicated and made by Mitsubishi that put me off them :p

    nice pics woofer

I also love the look of the GTO, but you know what.....seeing them side by side (something I've not seen in person or in a photo before) ....I found myself thinking "id take the zed"

i must be going down with something.

the Z's alot smoother looking. The 3000gt's design is too wonky and awkward..too busy looking...with a half-assed vent here, chuck a light there. Kinda like a deformed child of the Supra, 300zx and rx7.

I still like it though, in awkwardness it has some charactor, the "lesser known" and less common one of the Japanese 90's sport coupes.

Hmmm, the GTO has the defuser or whatever which looks great and that wing. Very old school street tough imo. Could use better wheels tho.

Yeah, I'm the same. I've always wanted to like GTOs, I'm not sure why. But again, they look so busy. Seeing the zed and the gto side by side, it makes sense why I like zeds so much more.

Having said that, they look alright in black.

I'm a fan of your zed, very clean and an understated colour. Makes the 3000gt look ordinary IMO.

Yeah I thought we got jacked as usual with the good models.

He should paint it lime green and call himself Paul Walker.

Always loved the GTO but have to say the Z was the first car that caught my attention with its looks. Still planning on getting a GTO one day but will still keep my zed.

Zeds looking nice  As for the GTO, its nice but for me its one of those cars that I'll sometimes see and think it looks really good but other times it just looks odd...
