All i can do is now wait and see what the results say. No matter what it is going to be removed, i can only hope it hasn't spread and if it has well then i will deal with it as comes along.

Okay just an update on the battle. The biopsy results came back, i have on what they call on a " Gleason Score " of 7 , which means it is an intermediate level prostrate cancer, it is going to be removed in the next few months, but they want too do a full body scan to ensure that the lil fukker hasn't spread past the prostrate.

I was given a choice of Radiation or Surgery, i chose the surgery mainly because once it is out, any further recurrence will make it easier too treat with radiation or chemo, instead of the other way around as it is harder to treat with surgery if rad/chemo was done first.

I guess a good part of this is i'll get too have about 8 weeks off work :):D:p . The worst part is the jiggy jiggy life is going to take a massive hit lol .

    Thanks for the update.

So is it inappropriate to say "We're rooting for you?" :p

All the very very best wishes man. Seriously.

Okay best put an update on what has been happening in my battle with the dreaded Big C in the Prostrate. I had a bone scan done back on the 12th April and the Urologist rang me the other day.

The results came back :D, the nasty little shit hasn't spread to any other part of my body.

They also advised me they are hoping to have me on the operating table in 2 months too remove the prostrate, so now that battle is about too start , i have to mentally prepare for the fact i could end up peeing into a bag for the rest of my life, or wearing diapers. And more than likely the "angry inch " will be getting a lifetime supply of the little blue pills or a pump hmmm i wonder if they can make it like one of those "jumping cars" types of pumps :p:D.

Mate great news about the not spreading! :)

Re the other posibilities, of course, prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

The guy I mentioned before that I work with was also preparing himself for a ....change in functionality, but actually came out of everything fine.

Chin up buddy. Thinking of ya.

Out of interest, are you keen to share your early symptoms? May help other guys motivate to get checked.

Cheers mate, appreciate the support. Yeah good idea sharing the symptoms so others go get the doctors finger up the exhaust pipe :D .

Well basically the only way you know if something is wrong is a change in your peeing, needing too go more often, especially at night. A lack of sexual function or erectile dysfunction. A history of prostrate cancer or any other cancer, heart conditions.

But basically as any man gets older he really needs too push the doctors to do a full PSA Blood count as that is the best indicator . As we get older the level rises, but if they find a level like me at 12-14 is in for one hell of a ride. But best i leave it too the experts to explain it . Click the link

Bit late for me to try wacky baccy oil , mine is a fairly aggressive one considering my age and the PSA Levels and how quick it progressed, from Zero to Fourteen in under 18 months .

But i hope your work mates does okay for him and it doesn't come back.

I have been told when my surgery is happening the big day is 2nd of August. Now the seriously scary shit begins. I guess one upside is , if i go out and pick up and the girl worries about getting pregnant she knows it won't be from me [IMG]

Well, i have had the surgery at 8.00am on Thursday 2nd August. Took just on 5 hours and when i woke up in recovery i felt like i'd taken on Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali , Joe Frazier and my ex wife . Surgery went well, they doctors are happy with it all, and are quite hopeful i won't have too much of an issue with incontinence in the future. But as for any other fun, that's a different story :-( .

It's good too be home, and trying to eat my own cooking, which is still a tad better than hospital food lol .

It’s great to hear it went well mate!
    Good news for sure.
And still with a sense of humour, now that’s a positive attitude.
It’s defiantly not hard to beat hospital food lol
