Some of the Americans are already mucking about with it. Haven't seen one in a Z32 yet though. There has been a bit of mucking about with putting a VK56 crank into a VH45. The VK is a massive motor, real tall.

Isn't the vk range what the have in the titans in America. On Ozdat there is a member using a Titan engine in a 240z. Massive donk. Will be pretty awesome to hear it fired up.

Maybe they will move to a LS engine, and Ford Coyote or what ever.

Standardised chassis and current manufacture performance V8 race spec engine fomula.

Pretty sure everything is going standardised on the chassis side and all going Quad Cam/24 Valve on the engine side.

From what I've read, Ford and Holden will be able to use quad cam engines if they want to, then V8 Supercars will work out a way of keeping it in parity with the other engines ... basically you will have the same car with a branded engine but the same power. It means that whoever wins on the day will have nothing to do with performance and everything to do with driver skill and luck ... a sham

Ford and Holden will be able to go to quadcam engines IF they want to, but certainly expect them to start with what they use now. As for parity, don't think of equality of architecture, but equality of output. If the Nissan displays better figures, then rpm limits, air restrictors etc can be used to level the playing field. Also, the Holden and Ford engines are not stock blocks - they are special motorsport engines from the ground up.

There goes the racing aspect of it then, QUE the heap of drivers, with the same amount of power out of the corner, same handling etc.

Go back where you had some cars with a little less get up, but more mid corner etc. each car had character, and gave each driver some. you get passed in the tight corner because you dont have get up, but pass back on a straight because you have topend etc.

yep might as well be watching the minis or some other single car/conformity race series. not saying this is new, V8 supercar series has been homogenised for ages the only real difference was personal setups gear ratios(within guidelines) and body design. personally the V8Brute series is more down to earth real car racing for me.
