How do you know there will be import taxes applied ?

 

Usually on items imported from overseas with a declared value of over $1000 they charge import fee's the term is called excise, best too check with customs on " if any " charges. Hence why the OP stated that in his wording " $167US per part. This does not include import taxes. ". Emphasis on the " this does not include import taxes part " . It's just better too be safe than sorry and get stung with any excess money too be paid out of your own pocket.

That stands for all parts entering the country. It's a risk we take that we 'may' pay this. Stands for all parts and everyone is aware. I think everyone's aware of the minor risk and its not worth clogging the thread with the tax knowledge.

basically, once the calculation in done for us (assuming total postage costs from the states to here of approx USD$204, if z32 could get that down it would help a little) and given the current exchange rate, we would have to pay around AUD$25.45 each tax.

Making the total price for the unit around AUD$195.80 delivered to Procky. You would then need to pay for domestic postage from him to you.

I wonder what the postage would cost if they were sent as 2 separate packages.....

 

We can keep the declared price for each bezel low enough that in total they won't go over $1000AUD. We do plan to ship the bezels in two separate packages but in reading the customs page both packages would count as one. But this won't be a issue since we can keep the total of both below the limit.

 

You can't send them as "gifts"? Or say that they're a lower price, so that it clears the $1k limit.
