Just starting the thread for the Copious amount of pics everyone was taking. We had a ball. Caught up with a lot of friends we only get to see every two years. Met some new ones this year as well. There was always something happening, some more funny than others. For those that missed the event.... You missed a good one. I'll leave it here for others to add their pics and comments of the great time we all had. Well done to the organisers you kept the traditions alive and well. THANK YOU !
Good to hear it was a fun event and everyone had a good time, but that`s the whole point in the first place .. now seeing were some of the one`s who missed out this year i will sit back and wait for the pic`s and story`s to roll in and enjoy it that way , even though i`ve seen a couple sneak peek pic`s from over the weekend already ..
Prockys Zedfest Recount Zedfest 2016 What a weekend What a zedfest! Id just like to chuck up a quick recount of the weekend from my perspective Friday~~ Meet and Great This saw us all leave from various locations to head towards Orange NSW. Who says zeds are impractical with boot installs? Mrs stole the keys? took over a hour to get them back and running out of petrol.. As part of the Southern NSW crew / ACT crew we all converged on YASS to meet up. After a catch up with some old friends and a bite to eat. We set forth towards Cowra to meet up with ZEDMD for lunch. With a tally of 6 zeds, 1 evo 7 and a forrester support vehicle in tow. Once at Cowra for lunch and meeting ZEDMD, we began the pilgrimage inland. 7 Zeds, 1 evo and a support Subaru I have to say that it was a VERY STRONG turnout from Canberra/ACT area! Very impressed. Upon arriving we all separated to our own accommodation to later converge upon the Colour City Caravan Park to meet everyone and have a welcome BBQ! Catching up with old friends, some not seen in 2 years. Was amazing! The food also was spectacular, very well cooked! so thankyou to the chefs! Bring on day 2! Saturday~Cruise day and Free for All night. Early start, everyone again swarming the Caravan Park by 11am to get ready to leave on the cruise. Sadly, we needed to leave 2 cars behind for some TLC, ill let the owners elaborate on this if they so choose. After a short cruise brief, route talk from myself!, we were off! I believe we have anywhere between 18-23 cars in total for the drive. We headed up a somewhat bumpier road that LilBaz and myself remember scouting on, arrived at Burrenong Dam for a group photo opp with a backdrop surveying to the horizon. From the photo location, we headed on a short sprint across to Wellington Caves for lunch and either A) cave tour or B) a Japanese Garden to explore As I was on the cave tour, I have a few pics of the group, maybe another has some of it and/or the gardens ? Descent into the darkness? A organiser taking a well earned rest~LilBaz Most people headed back on their own accord from here at various paces and directions. Sat night sees it being a FREE night. The caravan park people organised I believe a PP meeting (Pizza and pissup) The younger males in attendance saw this as a prime opportunity to go exploring the local area which resulted in a light night story of hitchhiking, cash, 2 dead cars, survival techniques, rescue voyage and a VL commodore. This may also be covered in NON Z RELATED Most of the ACT crew not already with plans ventured to the soldiers club to have drinks of our own and a VERY awesomely sized meal! Sunday~~ SHOW N SHINE and PRESENTATION DINNER After the previous nights antics, some were very groggy in dragging from the cabins but eventually. Rags were drawn, products were presented, buffing and wiping began bringing Bug gut encrusted paint back to a glimmer and reflective perfection. The public even started to drop by to look over our pride and joys and even 2 local young men drove in to display with us and meet everyone. This was awesome to see! 1 of the 2 had only owned a zed for under 48hrs! Local advertising seemed to work a treat !!! Somehow, sometime, a NERF war almost broke out whilst no one was paying attention. [TIS] resident Forum Kitty Judging and looking over the cars took a little time but was done shortly after lunch. Come evening, it was time for presentation and dinner and general hearty chit chat over the evening. 90TTZ MC?d the evening with a little assistance from MagicMike and LilBaz when it came time for the trophy presentation. These awesome little things light up blue or red! Very cool! We had a gorgeously large room, 2 large screens in each corner and a BAR! .. drink up! I wont go into detail myself on who won what exact award. I will leave that for someone else to cover but I will say, that each and every single award was well deserved and very appropriately chosen. Congratulations to the recipients. The following morning we began the voyage home. my own was plagued with various issues ranging from not starting, to stumbling back to not starting, then a stuck seatbelt retractor, finally then home! On a Personal note and on behalf of the Organisers this year. I would just like to say thankyou to everyone that attended in some way even If just for a bit to say hello. Zedfest is made by YOU the people, that we all eventually inherit as family along with the cars we own and love (or hate) depending how you look at it hehe. We hope to see you all again in 2 years time as well as any new faces and car owners. ProckyZ and KandyZ :zlove::zlove: P.S on a special Note: id like to thank MARCUS AKA CARCRAZE immensely as without him I very likely would not have made zedfest in my 300 due to mechanical issues. Last minute he helped me out in a big way which I deeply appreciate.
Great summary of an awesome weekend Andrew. I'm sure I can speak for everyone who attended in saying that it was a huge success. Thanks to the key organises ( including yourself ) who gave their own time to make this happen for all of us. Glad I could help out with getting you there. It's nice to be able to give something back to the people that have helped me out so much over the previous few years.
Thanks Thanks to the organisers, i was only able to make it for Sat and Sun, but had a great time. I will post up the pics i shot soon. Well done everyone, some very nice cars on show Sunday.
Would have loved to come, Car isn't back from the tuner, and the weekend of the Mrs B'day. All odds were against me for attending.
It was a great weekend. I dragged the little lady (joanne) and the rugrat (Gus). Thankfully they both had a great time and even Joanne is talking about getting to the next one. Thank you to all those that had an input on the organization and running of the weekend, without you guys and gals these weekends do not happen.
WOW ! What a bunch of really good pictures. Almost bought a tear to my eye, what an awesome turnout of great cars, you guys really did yourself and aus300zx proud. I do see a problem though there seems to be an up rising of blue cars, they might actually start thinking they look better then black Z32's. [TIS]
I wouldn't say uneventful, but we made it! Firstly I would like to thank Matty (Tonto) for taking the time off to drive me down, as painful as it was, then do all the wiring to try and fix it, and then drive me home again. You deserve that hard luck trophy Secondly, I would like to apologise to everyone for not really being very social during the day(s). I was a bit pre-occupied, but I tried to make up for it during the evenings Thirdly, I would like to thank everyone who made the trip. You are all the reason why we can have these events, and the organisers appriciate the support :zlove: We all hope that you had a very enjoyable weekend, enough so that you would not hesitate to make the trip in 2 years time, no matter where the location should be! :br: Forthly, thanks to Iain and Procky. I am sure many folks had a top weekend, which is thanks to you and your efforts. And thanks to Renee (RENZED) who also had a large part to play in the organising. Just sux you couldn't make it to enjoy the hard work! And lastly, I would like to thank Cara for her part in the organising of Zedfest #7, and for letting me go. We had a sick little boy with a chest infection who was not a happy camper on the Thursday morning when we left, and she is 7 months pregnant, so I nearly didn't leave at all! Aslo, I have one more shout out to our fantastic sponsors for the show and shine, Karl from Epic Automotive (who was also our MC for the dinner!), Rob from RGS Performance, Matt from Nistune Developements, Charles from Powertrix in the USA and Aaron from Import Monster! I heard many oooohs and aaaaahs in regards to the thropies this year when people walked into the dinner and saw them for the first time. Judging was very difficult this year in pretty much all classes, but I am sure that the judges got it right in all cases. Unfortunately I did not have much of a chance to wander the show and shine, but the time I took to do a walk around it was pleasing to see so many quality zeds! There was a few first time trophy winners too! Congrats to all the winners :zlove: And thanks to everyone else who keep making Zedfest special, and keep me coming back every 2 years. Hopefully we will see you all again in 2 years time!
Winners Would be nice to find out who the award winners were.. i had to head off Sunday arvo and i am keen to know. Certainly some very nice examples there.. was pleased to be able to ogle through the photos when i arrived back home.
I'll be posting a write-up of my own, in the next day or two, and will definitely cover off the winners of ALL of the trophies... Coming soon! :br:
Looks like a great few days and a great turn out I wish I was there, hopefully I can make the next one
My few pics I left the photo taking to others and only did a few general snaps at the Show-n-Shine. My mate from Coonabarabran Alan's (aanorton) car. This car is a shining example of long hard work even winning Best Interior Trophy. (sorry didn't get any pics) Chris (LittleRedZX) doing his thing. Kitty had some competition in the "banged-up" dept. I had another one of my girls there with Kitty. The guys nicknames her "The Disco Ball" One of the new guys on the forum, local from orange, just starting out on his zed adventure.
I am very sorry to IB and Judy, as I missed thanking them in my first post. They did an amazing job in pumping out the food on the BBQ on Friday night Thankyou guys
