for organising a fantastic cruise. I am sure all who came along had a great time. We had representation from Victoria, ACT and NSW and I think I speak for all when I say I don't think we could have done anything better (legally), the cruising, the sceanic landscapes, the wineing and dining, the great company and the weather was just fantastic.

    When is the next one???

A few photos, hope they work and arn't too big to download.

    Another brilliant weekend!

Eden is a really picturesque village, I could easily find a reason to live there

The company was absolutely great, and the breakfasts even better (thanks Judy, Anna and Ian).

An interesting drive from Melbourne, especially the last 80km of "twisties" over the tail of the Snowy Mts. Travelled in-train with ZXTT-1 and MickJ with RedZedMikey as PSA. MickJ's Zed blew a PTU on his way home from work on Saturday morning, so he came in his "other car". Would you believe a Fairlane's brakes are not as good as a Zeds? Anyway, arrived safely, found the Motel and offloaded our gear, then met up with the others for dinner at the local pub. During dinner, we were accosted by the local authorities (night photographer for the area paper (The Magnet, I think it was called). Seems we're newsworthy, and she took some group pics for inclusion in the next edition.

    Sunday morning started early
    [IMG]
Only Zedders clean their cars at 7.00am

Then down to the wharf for breakfast and a photoshoot, again with the local rag in attendance. After that it was on-the-road to savour some of the areas scenic spots, with the first stop at Short Point

Lunch at the Tathra Hotel was a HUGE affair (at least, the portions were (and I am not that shortsighted, I was just having a rest while trying to devour a "Fishermans Basket"... failed miserably. Anna helped me with the oysters, though))

Unfortunately we did attract some of the great unwashed trying to bask in our glory
    [IMG]
We let them park there, because at least the "Z" theme was adhered to!

Then it was off to Bega to the Grevillea Winery, and a top-off with the only 98RON petrol in the area @ 1.33c/L
Couldn't resist upstaging the local Nissan dealer

On the way back to Eden, RedZedMikey thought it would be a good idea to take some motion shots of the Zeds behind us by kneeling on his seat and facing backwards up through the targa opening. This seemed to be working OK until.... down the hill, round the bend... COPS. I think I fractured Mikeys femur when I thumped him, and nearly "dacked" him (no, don't go there) trying to get him to sit down again. People behind later said it was the quickest they had ever seen him move! Mr Plod gave us a strange look as we steamed past, but luckily did not pursue the situation.

Out for dinner again on Sunday night, then back to MickJ's motel to preview the days video take. Hopefully some of it will appear on the forum (FranZ, if you read this, Mick will probably need some hints and somewhere to host it). Then back to our own motel for the GP. Wasn't that some of the best racing seen for the last few years?

Monday morning early to IB/Judy/John/Anna's motel for one of the BEST breakfasts I have ever had. I wanted to talk about wife-swapping because my wife won't cook breakfast for me, but the girls weren't interested. Damn!

Then it was time to hit the road again and back to reality. (John (Zcar91) we only encountered one detour due to an Anzac Day parade, not as bad as I thought it might be).

Again, big THANKS to Ian and Judy for the organisation.
    When's the next one?

Did you people try the fish and chips in Eden???

They make them the best there in Australia, not to mention the best Oysters...mmm...yummm...a real aphrodisiac! :p

Sounds as if you people really had a good trip, Eden / Bega / Merimbula has always been a picturesque locale.

The Tathra pier is also a nice photoshoot location, I don't know if you people visited there.

I will be in the next multi cruise for sure, once I've done my 100k service. :)

Dougie, what were you munching on matey??? Were you trying to taste test the Bega cheese, Eden Oysters and fish & chips all in the one go???:thumbsup::p

Thirded. It was a great weekend. Thanks Ian & Judy.

btw I'm now sporting a plaster cast on my left arm after the tumble I had on Sunday evening, hurting my wrist. I hadn't even had a drink.

No fracture confirmed yet but the doctor suspects I have a fractured "scaphoid" ??? whatever that is. I'll find out later this week / early next week.

    cheers,

    Peter

    Ouch - I didn't see the tumble ...

Was it a speccy? Having broken 3 wrist bones previously you will be better off if its the radius bone you've fractured - the scaphoid usually requires a longer healing time, longer time in plaster. Best of luck ...

Of course if this means you need someone to deliver the purple people eater when it arrives, I'm first in the queue - and NO, I didn't push you over!

Hpe my piccies work out, should have the CD back by tomorrow night or Thursday morning - will do a more long winded post then.

Nah, not spectacular, I slipped on the stencilled concrete part of

the driveway outside of the reception area of the motel. If you remember, it was reasonably steep, and just a little moist from the sea air.

Are you suggesting I shouldn't drive with plaster? If so, how do one-armed people get to drive a car (ignoring for the time being that my cars are all manual)?

    cheers,

    Peter

Those "Fishermans Basket" serving were HUGE...

they would easily serve as a main for two ppl, or as an entree for 4-5. I struggled valiantly, but the Chef won in the end.

There's nothing like eating good seafood "al fresco" by the sea!

yeah - I can only agree to the comments above,

regarding the weekend. Weather wise - spot on, company - great, food - as ever great, scenery - excellent, so to sum it up, I'll go again any time.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

    Thanks Cliff.

After getting back to Canberra - a rather uncomfortable drive, although Ian and Judy gave me some painkillers which helped a lot, I went the the local casualty department at the hospital.

With my arm in plaster, one of my daughter's friends who is on P's drove the Zed home. There was plenty of discussion amongst them about who that would be. There are also plenty of offers to chauffer me around.

Anyway, now that the pain's down a few levels, I can drive the Zed OK.

    cheers,

    Peter

Having previously lived in Merimbula, I was so dissapointed that I could not make it up there, but it looks like it was a great cruise!

A few more photos from the ZEden cruise ...

Firstly, a big thanks to IB and Judy for the effort put into the planning and details for the cruise. Excellently done, and much appreciated. Thanks for the Monday morning brekky too .

As previously mentioned, at dinner on Saturday night, a local paper journo accosted us, and arrangements were made for pix down at the wharf on Sunday morning. In the second pic below we have 5 Z owners lining up for their 15 minutes of fame in the local Eden rag ... looking forward to the follow up - hope we made it!

One of the local fishing boats coming in to dock - looks like he's heading for a prang, but a nice 90° handbrakey saw some perfect parking.

Whale watching ... nope, didn't see any Supras around , didn't see any whales either. Wrong time of year.

Eden is definitely a fishing town. These guys were busy keeping Doug's fisherman's platter going!

Can't resist a good photo op!

For those wondering why I was sticking myself out of the roof (luckily not attracting the blue'n'red's attention), I was trying to get some speed shots of Zeds. Heres a few of them below taken at diferent shutter speeds. Gotta work on combining the road blur of the slow shutter shots with the focus and image clarity of the faster shutter shots ...

btw, I submitted the paperwork to DoTARS today to import the "Godfather". Just one step closer, not that I'm keen - not much.

    Good pics Mikey...

In the second pic...why were you blokes facing the other way???

And while you were taking those speed shots, who was driving??? Or did you momentarily risked life and limb and let the road do the driving for you? :p:D:wacko:

Thanks for the great pics, and the write-up.

Lynn and I were really disappointed at not being able to make this cruise, now we are just plain "P#ssed-off".
Imagine missing a chance to give Doug a serve (for falling asleep in his lunch), and to miss seeing Peter Karate-chopping the footpath.
Looks like it was another great cruise, from that renowned Tourist Agency, Ian & Judy's Guided Zed Tours.
    Next time, for sure.
BTW,I think you're overplaying that "It wasn't me who pushed you, Peter" thing, Mikey.:p:p:LOL:

    Answers inside ...

    1) Those guys were facing the newspaper photographer - he had them lined up looking at him, and 4 of us lined up taking photos of them/the cars - All in the same photo. If we get to see that one, all will become clear!

    2) I didn't drive my Z to Eden; I passengered with Doug and Jack specifically so I could take the pix. I want to try some more like that if I can find some Zedders keen on a nice day .

    Judy and Ian (and Jack)...>>

Anna and I had great weekend along the Sapphire Coast (Eden and Tathra) followed by a few more days further north around Moruya, Tomakin and Turros Heads. It was good to have drinks, meals and a cruise with some of our friends from Vic, NSW and ACT. Well done and I now have to work off the extra 3kg I'm carrying. Anyway, just a note to say thank you for your hard work in preparing the groundwork to enable the cruise to succeed (including a few words upstairs for the terrific weather).

Jack, I found the metal part that houses the external temperature probe (sensor) by cutting the top radiator hose in the middle and then joining the two ends by using hose clips. The part I have is a GReddy WJ-36 with a threaded hole that is very close to that needed for your sensor. I will take this metal part to a fitter-and-turner to see if it can be 'duplicated'.

Can I keep the sensor for a few weeks?

    Cheers
