    UPDATE

    Hey Guys,

Just thought I would give you an update on the throttle bodies... They should arrive to me some time this week.... :)

I couldn't help myself and gave you all a little christmas present... I paid the extra and got the shafts zinc plated... No expense to you guys.

    Merry Christmas! :zlove:

    massive thanks!

one question though, what does the zinc plating do? i mean i know its a coating and im guessing its going to stop corosion?

Yes, some people are a little worried about mild steel in the intake system... Zinc plating ensures that no rust is going to form on the shafts and slip into your intake system. It's really not that necissary but if you are planning to run water injection or similar, it's a good idea. :)

    what?????????
zinc rusts lol although not as quick as just plain steel. gal is after that then stainless (304). if it is going to be submerged underwater for a longggg time then you would use 316... but its rare to use 316 unless its basically staying underwater forever.

true. Gal would look crap. Stainless would be sooo expensive.

Galvanising is just dipping something in liquid hot zinc :p Zinc plating doesn't have the durability due to the thickness of the coating.

304SS is ok, nothing special, it does corode pretty quickly compared to 316. Once you start getting into the 329/334 stainless steels though 316 looks like iron.
