totally agree! money is simply a medium of exchange there is know point having allot of money "saved" you must be working it to the nth degree to offset the cost of it being saved. you cant take it with you.

If buisnesses had this mentality do you think they would get anywhere??

Im a young guy and i know for a fact that ill never sell my car the oppertunity cost of my money been spent on the car is determined by the enjoyment i receive from pushing my eyeballs through the back of my head when i press the go pedal :D. We were not born to die with lots of money, your ment to enjoy life.

If people are happy thats all that matters. Some people may have a different outlook on the monetary trap that you seem to use to depict your quality of life.

I'm getting all the work I want done to my zed now, so its out of the way and I can put all my money away for saving.

I do live with my parents, and I have been looking around at houses to buy, but even a 250k loan is stretching the friendship. I have decent pay for a person my age, but most of my pay would be used to pay the mortgage, leaving hardly anything to pay rates, bills and food.

i own a zed and have no money outstanding on it.
now own a mitsubishi triton bought brand new and have started the process of paying it off.

last year i went travelling overseas for 4 months ($20k for the 4months in total) and don't owe anything on it either.

i've graduated from uni, and been working since i was 14. i have a social life and manage to spend a bit of money on the zed.

i'm not interpreting this thread as a piss in someone's pocket contest - i think it reflects how many of us in different situations are managing to live our dreams with owning these cars.

i think if you want something bad enough, hopefully that motivation will see you get it. i work a lot and when i was working 2 casual jobs, was smart with my money - took the time to find the right zed where i wouldn't be stuck with maintenance issues from the start, thought about what i wanted to do with it and for a lot of things i've done to the car - i've learnt the process or had guys on here help me how to do stuff which has saved me a lot of money and taught me some valuable stuff about cars.

i definitely want to start putting away more money though to own a place of my own.
