It all started when I was totally impressed with the quietness and quality of visibility with the wipers in the new Toyota taxis I have been driving.

Especially noticeable in contrast to my 300ZX wipers, noisy and leaving wet patches (we all hate wet patches) across the middle limiting visibility and at night in combination with the 300ZX headlights, getting down right dangerous.

So I had a read around the Internet and had a closer look at my taxi's wiper blades, and it seems there is a new trend in modern wiper blades, it is called "beam" style. Manufactures claim even pressure and less noise then metal lever style frames that get loose and make noise.

Did a bit of research and the best price performance is Rain-X, Both Bosch and Tridon $60 plus.

So today my Rain-X Latitude wiper blades arrived, fitted them and went for a drive in this fabulous weather Brisbane is having, my god what an improvement, perfect wipe, still a little noise but heaps quieter then before.

I have 4 sets of 21" Rain-X Latitude wiper blades available at $35 a set plus postage.

If they are popular i will get more.

Here's a Rain-X demo video, my wipers were as bad as these, and tested on a Nissan. :)

I have the tridon brand ones, two blades came in at around 70 bucks. SuperCheap sells them, and the recommended part number is in the in-store guide.

They have a larger than normal centre pivot point than factory, but they are devoid of all the levers and pivots of older styles, rather being a solid piece of pre-tensioned curved rubber and plastic. Performance in the wet in better than I expected, and should last a good while too.

Cool. I definitely need new wipers. I might check this out instore first see what they look like..

Your set is for 2x or 3x wipers? (for the rear window as well)

I only got 2x front wipers. I never use the rears and the tint on the back makes the rear window useless anyway.

These are the same style as the Tridon Flexblade, but I was a bit put of at $70 for a set of wipers.

This is for 2x 21" blades, there have been different specs quoted on the forum for front wiper blades sizes, but when I search manufacturer catalogues they say 21", when I measure the old blades with "Nissan" stamped on the frames, they measure 21".

The rear is speced 19" and measures the same, you could put a 21" on if you wanted, but as Mitch suggests performance isn't as important on the rear and my existing wiper is doing the job.

    Tridon blades look like this:

Inside, there is a larger than factory 'bump' where the blade mounts to the wiper arm. Nothing to worry about though...

How to change a wiper blade. :p

Normally when I see the type of packaging the Rain-X Latitude blades come in, I start swearing and find a razor knife, but these have a convenient pop open door on the back, I saved the packaging and put my old blades in them as a backup.

To get the OEM blades off, locate the small tab underneath, don't squeeze it too hard as it may snap off causing more swearing and having to take the whole wiper arm off and use of a needle to get under the broken stump. Then pull in the direction of the large arrow below. If you do it right they should come off very easily little force required.

Just measured my rear wiper (Stamped NISSAN) its 550mm/21.6", catalogues spec the Z32 rear at 19", so far as I am concerned the same 21" blade should be fine on the rear.

Some catalogues quote F21/R19 (Rain-X) others F20/R18 (Tridon).

The Rain-X 21" fit perfectly on the front and my car has what appear to be original equipment on the back at 21.6" cant see a problem with 21" all round on a 2+2 JDM.

My front wiper arms measured the same as MickW's in this post.

I think where some discrepancies are coming in are that some are measuring the carrier while others are measuring the blade.
