Window Tint

    The other day i over herd a tint guy saying that anything before 1994 can have as dark tint as they want because it rule only applies to cars made after 94, When the law came in.
    Any one shed some light on this?

    They assume that if you have a pre 1994 car, the tint was installed before the new standards were in place.

    So........... As long as noone knows that the tint was done recently, you're all good.

    However, and its a valid however, the level of plods' attention is directly proportional to the level of darkness in the tint.
    Expect plod trouble with dark tinting, specially on the front windows.

    Yeah and dark tinting can be shite for visibility at night or on dark days. I prefer good visibility. You gotta watch the window tinter who tells you to go as dark as possible. They're like the "mechanics" who tell you to chop springs.
