    Hey Guys,

I've been talking to a friend from Tint A Car and I've managed to score our forum a deal.

The following is only relative and available at Tint A Car Capalaba or Browns Plains

For members on the forum i am able to offer a number of tints depending on how dark of course depends on the price which is listed below. (Please keep in mind the below prices are Cash Only)

    Tint Offered: Midnight Express

    Original Price
    Utes - $275.00
    Cars - $395.00
    Wagons - $495.00

    Price Offered
    Utes - $200.00
    Cars - $250.00
    Wagons - $300.00

If you want tint that is 17% or 5%
    Price Offered
    Utes - $225.00
    Cars - $275.00
    Wagons - $325.00

I would not recommend going darker then 17%... But it is your decision.
Also Keep in mind 35% is the legal limit (which does shit all).

At the store there are samples which have been removed from
cars which had been tinted in 3M, Tint Mart and Express which do not appear
to last any longer than 2-3 years maximum! Tint A Cars tint is made in the USA and is not like the product used by their competitors.

Please send me a Personal Message if you are interested so we can organize a time and which store you will be getting your car tinted at.. Or if you have any inquiries.

    Cheers Dave :D

thats a pretty good deal. at our local tint a car i get the 300zx's done for a little less then $300. so that a bargain at your price. midnight express is quiet nice. i presume this cost does not include removal of old tint.

    UPDATE!!!!

No change to price if you would like to have a combo of tint

eg 17% back window and quarter panels and the rest legal

*Be mindful that 17% is an
illegal window tint and an insurance company will try and void any insurance
if they see an illegal window tint as probably cause of an accident due to
    an obstruction of vision.

They will charge $75.00 to strip the tint off a complete sedan, $100.00 for a
wagon and $50.00 for a ute. *Which is cheap by competitor standards given I
received a quote from Tint Mart being $88.00 to strip a rear screen only. *

contact details to book it in - 07 3245 6822 and mention my name David Wells

please pm if you do decide to make a booking first

Thank you and I hope this helps .. Keep in mind this isn't just for zeds if you have daily drivers I can also help with that :)

It is a great deal.. Keep in mind this offer is a limited time so get it while you can ..

    Cheers Dave :)

If the zed is built before 1994

You can say it was on there before hand and they cant do a thing about it, since it only applies if you got it done after that. It is legal for a pre 1994 car to have darker tint

Unfortunately i dont have any photos of the different grades of tint ... if you look at threads where people have posted up pictures of their different tint you can hardly tell the difference due to the reflection.. As mentioned earlier there are samples at the stores if you wanna look at what your purchasing and then make a decision its up to you!

In Reply to Will.I.Am the good thing about this deal is it is done at a proper tint a car workshop by proffessionals with professional tools etc for an optimum out come and longer lasting tint :) ..not a back yard job :p

lol, i was just giving syd guys a chance for tint too... and if u dont think the tools the guy brings to ur place are proffessional u can take ur car to his tinting shop and get a proffessional job, he just does home jobs for more work, so maybe mo0re experienced???.... ps. its the person skill that creates a proffession

I think you are being a bit unfair with your comment above, to be totally up front I own a Tint Mart store and have done a few 300's for members of this site.

Your comment about 3M tint is accurate, their track record lately has been very poor and is disgraceful considering they are the most expensive brand in the Australian market.

But your comment about Tint Mart films lasting no more than 2-3 years is very misleading. We sell every brand of film on the market including Llumar (CP films) which is the manufacturer of all Tint-A-Car films, if you have seen Tint Mart jobs that have only lasted a short time then they were either faulty film (such as 3M which is covered for full replacement cost by the manufacturer) or may have been a cheap film (chosen by the customer to save a few $). You would be surprised how many people only want to spend $99 on a tint job, regardless of what you tell them about the quality of the film.

Tint-A-Car themselves have had many failures with their films, but like us have manufacturer backed Australia wide warranties, so no matter what film you choose make sure you are happy with the terms of the warranty eg.

    Length of time
Does it cover fading (most don't)
Is it materials and labour (many are materials only)
Can you get repairs done any where or does it have to go back to their franchise stores

Also remember any tint darker than 35%VLT is illegal, voids your insurance, and Is not covered under any manufacturers warranty

    Thanks

    Peter

Only voids your insurance if you say you've put it on after you got the car, pre 1994 vehicles with it already fitted are fine and it is legal.

That might apply in NSW if you are lucky enough to get away with it but in QLD it is not the case.

Also your insurance company when faced with a $10000+ claim may look further into the case so hope there are no paper trails like credit card or eftpos payments that may show otherwise.

Shannons insurance assessors actually carry light meters now and will test tinted vehicles for legality in event of a claim, this trend will be catching on.

I love the look of dark tint but I know 1st hand of the problems it can cause, I've now changed my focus to the new Hi-tec legal films that stop more heat than the old school illegal black tints.

    Hmmm

Weird didn't even know they knew about window tinting that far back, that one you pasted me also is only guide they said not anything official, but yeah you are right I thought it said somewhere the Australian standards for window tinting law but it is on the RTA NSW website so go figure.

It's an extract from the official Qld transport regulations they have used for the booklet, I have an original copy and it is word for word. Qld regulations are crazy, you can have a commercial van with no windows in the cargo area and if you cut the steel out of the sides and fit a window it can not be tinted darker than 35%VLT

BTW window tint was invented by 3M about 45 years ago, so?

    Tint Shade Pics

    Hi there,

Some people were wanting to know what various shades look like and I remembered these pictures. They're from vendors of pre-cut tint on Ebay in the United States.

    The first is from Nusolis:

    found at http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/nusolis/

The second is from Tint Pro:

Before anyone accuses me of advertising for someone I'm including the links because I can't just copy pictures and not give acknowledgment to the owners.

    Cheers, Lou :)
