ok guys fitted a set of white dials to one of the Zeds and getting the needles off seem to have mucked up the speedo, lm doing like 100 klms the speedo takes 3 min to catch up, so l figure l was a tad hard on the needle spline when l got the needle off, does anyone know a better way of getting the needles off without being forceful, so l dont go through my third cluster in getting this right regards Geoff
When I put my white dials on, I was able to slip them over the needles (I never needed to remove the needles).
peedo issue I have this exact same issue??? The speedo needle seems to be very slow to react... have to accelerate or brake very harshly to see any change on the needle. I wondered if the capacitator was wrong? Or if there's a specific method to adjusting the needled?? i.e. will turning anti clock wise on the needle make the speedo read lower or higher due to more resistance?? I've sent fleet a pm and still trying to get to the bottom of it.... The dials appear to be great quality... but there must be some trick to getting the speedo working better.... mine's just not accurate at all. Any ideas people??????
The trick is to see how far the needle goes in the clockwise direction and put a mark there, then if you dont have a little tool for removing needles get a pair of tweezers to hold the pin from underneeth. Gently pry off the needle only. If you get the whole thing out it will never be the same.
Another issue may be, if you are inserting gauge faces over the top of the STD nissan ones (like mine), there may not be enough clerance for the needle or the circular center area. So you get friction between the gauge face, and the needle movement.
Yeah when i pulled the needle off... the needle and pin came out Does that mean she's pretty much stuffed???? or does anyone know a way to get it back to decent??
I removed the old dials first as the lighting would be too dull all worked well with the tacho and guages but the speedo thats another story l bought another cluster that makes 3 as soon as l work out the best way to do it l'll let you know however if someone has already worked it out lm really willing to listen
