Well I'm looking at getting a big brake kit... What Is value for money... Personally money isn't really a problem... Been looking on czp. -Stoptechs -ap racing -akeboons Otherwise I'm looking at brembos off a -r33 gtr -350z Those are my current options.. The brembos seem like the cheapest option as I can pick up a set for about 1.5k for fronts and rears.. What have you used. What do you think of all the different brands.
Last I looked the stop tech were pretty good value. Cheapest/easiest though would be GTR/Z33 brembos calipers and project mu 324mm rotors. You don't need to touch the rears.
14" Rotors with 6 Pistons on Fronts, 4 on Rears with SS Braided Lines and Pads for just $2391USD? (Coz) Sold! Looks like I just found the next money sink... I was eyeing these Akebonos before, but they're just 4 Pistons on Fronts & 2 on Rears... http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=3310&Car_Type=300&UID=2011110120161959.101.49.45 *edit* LOL... Just had a look over at Z1, the exact same kit... $4150. MoulaZX
budget will be about 3-4k.. as the less i spend the more i spend somewhere else.. i dont really care..
Knew it was too good to be true. Still half asleep. (night shift mode) The Fronts + Rears added up comes to a total of $4357 for 14" on Fronts & Rears, $4187 for 14" on Fronts & 13" on Rears... from Coz. Z1 kit is $4150 for 14" Fronts, 13" Rears, so $37 cheaper then Coz. Unless somehow I screwed that up again...? MoulaZX
BUT! z1 has a special on 14" front brakes.. http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_9&products_id=1305 - $1988 rears 13" - $1785 14" - $1978 so this makes a total of.. 3773 for 14" and 13" or 3966 for 14" and 14" when their full kits are.. 14" and 14" - $4400 14" and 13" - $4150 or am i missing something.. like you get some extra gear when you buy these sets?
a little of both.. its going to be a high powered street car all engineered.. so i want big brakes on it because i can i guess... i would like big brakes because it looks good... so a little of both.. but mainly for show i guess... will track the car once in a while.. but whats wrong with having big wanker brakes?
Mate i just put on a set of 324mm rotors on the front with adapters so thats the R34 GTR and 350z track size rotor with good fluid, TWR Lucas pad...which are pretty good for the money...best bang for buck i think and Toyo r1r tyres that stick like shit to a blanket literally in 245 profile on the front and the braking is fricking awesome i think due to the better tyres it brakes better than the 350z track spec i had....dont know if you will need much more than that on the street and even for light track work....i give the car one hard stop to get heat into the tyres and its fantastic....it will leave your testicle in the back seat. Your Tyres will ultimately be the deciding factor in how well it brakes....I only put the R1R tyres back on the front last week and was running Pirelli Assimetrico for the meantime whilst i sorted out some camber issues on the front first before i chucked the R1R's back on and the difference in braking between the two tyres is unbelievable...light and day does not describe it. The kit will set you back about 500-600 and you can spend the money elsewhere.:br:
I was thinking about doing something similar but not so big....i was looking at the TT rotors as its an upgrade to my NA rotors...but for the amount you mentioned if i could get that, then that would definitely be bang for buck... Ive got some good grip Federal 595 tyres in 235/35/19...so tyres are done already...just need to get a good setup for my brakes...as i plan on doing a TT conversion down the track, so this would be something i can do now instead of later What were the calipers you got? Front and rear? What rotors did you get? Total estimated cost? Thanks. Abraham
i got another z32 mike.. you will see it when you get back.. its going to have big power so i will need to get bigger brakes anyway.. if your going to do it might as well get something nice..
fair enough. i just have one question... what colour? don't quit that panel beater job btw. integra's been fixed but i'd like the front bumper realigned slightly once i'm back so all the gaps are perfect.
Question. (whore) For those who fit these funky bigger front rotors, but leave the rear stock, how do you deal with the inevitable shift of brake bias to the front? I have stock diameter slotted disks all round and i find the bias too frontwards for ...errr.. "spirited" driving now! Turning in and pinching front brakes all the time......So going larger on the front only can only make this worse which simply will NOT happen for me. Ideas? l8r E
I've got the GTR Brembo's on mine and haven't had trouble with bias. I'm not really one for pushing the limits so much that I'm breaking that hard that late it becomes a issue. It never really feels weird though.
