Hey guys anyone have their dash out and can have a close look at whats directly behind this hole I started drilling ... As far as I could remember and looking at pics with dash out looked like there was only the aircon blower in the area but wasnt up against the wall anyway... Drilling it went metal , plastic , metal so I stopped.
found these pics but still cant figure out what it is... to get to any of those components id have to drill through the sound proofing which is against the wall , foam/felt stuff and then rubber... could it be an aircon pipe ? running under the sound proofing against the wall ??
You are better off NOT perforating the FW. Most cables you can feed through the grommets where all the other cables go. Out on the side if the engine bay and in just in front of the door
Not for a cable graham im putting a blind rivert nut there litrally only need like 5mm more in Im going to look at a zed wreck tomorow ill see what is exactly there , if its something then ill go down to shops see if I can get a shallower blind rivert nut
You realise the fire wall is a sandwich of metal and sound deadner. So if you drill it. It will be metal then black crap then metal. It isn't just one sheet of steel.
Thats exactly what I needed to know thanx so ill be safe to drill slighty through the second skin of metal. When drilling it went metal, black crap, metal and I stopped there thinking it was something
