What should the next gen zed look like - One persons opinion

There?s been a lot of talk about the upcoming Nissan 370Z (Does anyone else think ?370Z? has a poor ring to it?), with most folks happily acknowledging the minor 240Z homage in the form of the beltline as it leads up along the bottom of the rear quarter window. On the other side of the coin, of course, is the general antipathy toward the headlights and front intakes.

One thing that stands out about the Z line of cars is that, unlike the 911 for example, there?s little to no design ties between the 240Z and the 350Z, and most of the models in between (excluding, perhaps, the 280ZX). You very much get the feeling that while each Z car has had its own appeal in one way or another, they?re each little more than a random two-door sports car made by a company who conveniently happened to own the rights to a highly respected badge.

If you were given the keys to Nissan?s design department, what would your next generation Z look like? A 3D designer asked himself that same question, and arrived at a fairly stunning retrotastic concept. In much the same way Ford have done with their current Mustang, BMW have done with the new Mini?and so on?this design offers bold modern lines while maintaining clear ties to the original styling.

assuming the production model will look like the above, the side does have a 240 throw back to it.

Just a few tiny issues with some styling cues, but overall a bloody magnificent bit of retro styling , the 240/260 lives again....I'd love one.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

i dont see nissan/z badging?

 

this is just an artists impression of what it should look like, not from nissan at all,

 

discussing this with some mates (1 a fellow Z32 owner, the other a skyline freak so diferent tastes) and both agree, they'd want the 370Z to be a slight moderization of the Z32

The Z owner has simular ideas to my own. Make it 2 seats ONLY but throw the engine in the back

 

lol... I used to hate clients like you when i did GFX design.

 

I'd only ask for slightly bigger headlights, slightly bigger flares over wheels, and no fluro colours, and its a car i'd certainly want to buy.

 

That does look good, i dont really like the back window but the rest of it looks tops.
