Headgasket went... so this is... engine pull day one.. my first one too. Started of the day by waking up early.. cleaning the garage up... preparing tools etc... then Chris arrived and we started pulling bits and pieces off... Fuel relay out, hardpipes, coilpacks, balance tube, battery and what not. Then Steven arrived and the real work began. Many thanks to these two fellas. I really wouldn't know what I was doing... you guys made it happen. Coolant in the plenum?? who can explain this...?? Time to jack her up! DODGEY? lol... the jack was too small to lift it to a suitable height and had no wood.. no nothing laying around. Steven got into a fight...with the ratchet...lol he can fill you into the details The rest. At the end of they day... we did alot for 3.5hrs haha.
lol as stef said, 3.5hrs for he whole day ahhah what did you do all day? looks like steve lost the fight other than that well done mate. whats next on the cards?
When was this? Musta been just before i got there hey? Damn that's dodgy. Hehe. I got there at 12.30 and left at about 4. Bit of drinking, chatting and all the good stuff that happens at a tech day. To be honest, I think there are 3 bolts on the gearbox that need to be removed (having already taken a hit in the head from a 1/2" ratchet I couldn't be ****** trying again at removing these last 3), the two engine mount bolts and its ready for pulling (aside from perhaps a few misses hoses / connectors that you just remove as you see them removing the engine. I can only assume it's from your headgasket failure.
dodgey dodgey dodgey :rolleyes2: who in their right mind uses a phone book to support a jack while raising their car...
amen to that brother! the other scary part about that is that you can see someone under the car jacking it up while using phone books
nar lol... were not actually jacking it in that foto... the car was on stands at the back... all we wanted to do was jack it about another inch... so we could fit rims under the tyres... but yeh... we pulled out as soon as it got abit dodgy and found other means of jacking it up but the fotos came out like that.. pretty funny
Dodgey Bros. or what. Keep us posted on how it goes, but make sure you have the local hospital/ambo phone numbers locked into your phones
lol damn i thought i was dodgy! Well we all learnt one thing, phone books are good in compression :bash:
i can give u a hand next sat if you are gonna be working on it again. i have my own motor to install andrew (minivan was going to take the engine, but there are other parts aswell that you might want for spares for your rebuild
