Just thought i'd chuck up a reminder to all Perth members that we will have double demerits for the next 2 months, starting from December 1st to January 31st.

I know it's common knowledge that the holiday season brings double demerits, but not many people realize that it lasts 2 months.

    WTF???

Thanks for the heads up. I always have it in mind during long weekends but no.... I had no friggin idea of the above.

How many demerits does that make it for cycling on the pavement with no helmet on? :D

Radar detector gives you time to say "oh shiiiii......." if its a multi nova

radar detectors do stuff all, they are positioning the multinova's at more of an angle now so you get about a second from the frist ka beep to the flash. K band falses on that much that you disregard it most of the time and the cops don't leave thier radars on anymore, so if your getting a good signal chances are they already have your speed

actually i get heaps of warning for muti nova with my RX 65 but its the new hand held lazers that dont give much warning .

    and for sliding doors? ;)

Na actually all the "false readings" is bull crap coz that's in ubanised areas. If you're speeding in area's with automatic doors close to the road, you need to get pinged.

Out on the open road, I dont see many sliding doors lol

    Interesting thought though....

with the "other device" mentioned in another thread to do with the plates.....i wonder....rig a Radar detector up to AUTOMATICALLY activate the "other device"???????
(with a manual override of course)

    ooooh im bad

agree you wouldnt be speeding in these areas but the false alarms would give you the shits so what i do is leave the auto mute function on. the other option would be to use the disable option for x band and k band as its been years since ive seen the cops use these bands anyway. these days the only alarms i get from cops is Ka band and lazer

but what of my other idea dude ;)

With nova's, no matter how late the warning, there would be nothing to photograph ;)
