    Well said Franz,

    sounds like an interesting day,
it was a big worry on the SSC, if people were going to misbehave,
best we get started on the next tour, :)

    Thanks Miksta and ZXxx... :)

    Great cruise fella's!

Had a lot of fun...great roads and a great group of people to drive with...well done.

Was nice to sit down and have a chat + beer with you all after as well. I encourage this sort of stuff for future cruises because it's great to get to know one another and chat rather than just cruise and go home... :)

Hope you guys didn't mind me inviting my friend with his Soarer. Later, he said it was one of the better cruises he has been on. I told him the Zed community was special...and we're on a higher level... ;)

Anyway, thanks again...can't wait to meet up next time for another cruise/event etc.

    P.S. Bugger you Keith...and your Porsche! :)

    Rob.

Sorry for not coming to the pub afterwards

Yeah the pub was great fun....

and keith and dave are more than welcome at future cruises, your both great guys.

I was skeptical about whether people would go to the pub afterwards as most people peel off at the conclusion of the cruise, but everyone went and I think we all had a cood time....specially watching paul go after the cougar girls.....I could imagine he gets into trouble on a weekly basis. haha.

i think we should all take a page out of the book of franz

a cruise is just that... a cruise! it's not a race and we are just going to make a bad image for ourselves if something happens or we cross the boys in blue... I don't want to sound like a nagging wife but keep it to the track! :) It's nice to have a bit of a poke but don't go overboard... you can't impress other zedders when your zed is wrapped around a tree! and there are easier ways to make your 2+2 a 2 seater... show us on the dyno or at the plex ;) we really should organize a session on wednesday now that the season is back open

franz ... to my mind, your advice should be mandatory prereading

for all zed cruises, australia wide .. and certainly relevant here in QLD .. well stated .... !!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::zlove::zlove:

You have a point there Franz

The road is not a racetrack, but Paul and i were so far behind we didn't see much of the "action", still point taken, let me take to opportunity to say that this cruise wasn't meant to be an opportunity to go crazy and do crazy risks, sure i did think about the speeds we would be getting up to but i had the confidence in everyone that they would handle it well

    nice pics

    thanks for sharing those :)

franz i luv your rear wing, what type is it and where did you get it from?

and i'm impressed by the boxster, his cornering ability... on the straights was he any quicker than a stock tt? it must be pretty close... however he was good on the corners, i don't know if its familiarity with the route or the 255's that he's running on the rears but i was hesitant to take them that hard and he just pulled away from me! :)

as for the comments on driving etiquette, i didn't see anything out of the ordinary, must hv been a few isolated incidents... everyone seemed to drive quite decently as far as i could tell

i'd luv to go to a track or someplace but for noobs~
so its ok to spin out etc... becos i want to get familiar with the limits which means i'm going to have to push them... and im under no misconceptions that im a great driver, i've never worked on it before :) but i want to improve, so is there any place u can recommend to learn more about my car?

    Cheers,
    Matt.

    more things

cheers for he welcome to more cruises. might have to take you up on that one. i'll let you lot know next time i organise something with euro car club

as for the driving on the roads, i didn't see anything out of the usual for a hills run. i've seen much more silly driving on bmw club runs. although you were in a different group to me so you might have seen something that i didn't

as for the track, the other alternative is to join the wa sporting car club and go to their tuning days. i do that every now and then. there's one coming up on friday the 14th that i'll be at if anyone wants to come down and have a gander. most track days are ok for beginners. just make sure that you check your mirrors regularly and let faster cars through

yeah you all better slow up when i come back...

I don't need to lose my licence for another 8 months.

It's going to be a very different SCOTTIE Z !

I must admit though I was getting way to cocky... right up to where I lost it.

WASCC is a good idea if you're going to do track days regularly...

...but is rather expensive to do a one off - WASCC membership, + cams license + cost of day. Not to mention its always at the same track (Barbagallo).

One off days organised by car clubs such as AFARCC work out much cheaper as CAMS license generally wont be needed (if its at Collie), club membership is cheaper, and the cost of the day is generally the same - not to mention Collie is a much more fun track!

If there wasn't a track day the next day at Collie I would have more than likely gone to Wanneroo to try and keep the Beemers honest! :p

I didn't see anything bad happening.

On the first run up Obrien Franz passed Coyote and then disappered out of sight! We passed Coyote as well and did not see Franz , Keith or Dave (Afro guy) till we met them at Berry Road. I did not see anything disasterours happen at all. I was not near Franz on the run Back but was with Keith and Dave so I can't comment on what Franz saw happening.
Taking it to the tack is always a good idea if you push 100% because there is a small meragin for error when pushing it to the limit. However a sweeping country road has a certain appeal that you just can't beat.
A scout for oncomming traffic is probably a good idea an a decent set of two ways would help a lot!

ANyway I had a great day, enjoyed the drive, loved the handling of the Zed, enjoyed everyones company!
Well done to Miksta and Paul!
